you mean you never turn it off like when you are not playing, you leave it at XMB menu and just turn off the TV?

I turn it off. Because I pay electric bill and don't need to make it higher. even a little bit.

I too have left it on for long periods of time, but sometimes by accident. The biggest foe to my PS3 is my stupid cat. He is always jumping onto the shelf and seems to stand directly on the PS button. Then next thing you know....BEEP...The PS3 turns itself on and stays on until someone notices. One other thing worth mentioning-sometimes my PS3 turns on all by itself, almost as if it is possesed. Although I am quite sure that it is just some sort of radio interference or something that is running on a similar frequency as the Bluetooth receiver.

I have had my PS3 for about 2 months now, and I have not shut it off since the day I turned it on. I did the same with my PS2 and I had that since it first launched. Sony makes quality machines! :)

ive heard about peoples ps3's just cutting on by themselves. i think the 20 gigs are haunted. thats why you cant find them in stores anymore. sony stopped making haunted products, lol :). on topic, i leave mine on stand by when i go to work sometimes, but only because i forget to turn it off. just a personal prefrence to keep it off unless im gonna be right back.

No.... I would leave it on all the time too, but I like to save a little on my power bill... But it shouldn't cause any issues.

well i'd never do that, technology decay overtime no matter what, like your processor, memory and everything will not be as efficient as it was 2-3 years ago and so, so i just turn it off when not in use just to prevent the risk of my ps3 breaking or losing it's ability to perform at it's prime
