Do you leave the switch in back in the on position?

I can't figure out which to do. I know you would be able to utilize the functionality of the remote start and such but part of me says its a no no. What do yall think?

I turn it off using the switch if I'm going to be out for long, because I don't want anyone turning it on by accident and then not knowing how to turn it off.

Yeah, that was the biggest disappointment for me going from the 360 to the PS3, much slower DL speeds and you if you turn off your monitor the PS3 cancels your downloads...

I turns downloads off if you turn monitor off? Doesn't happen with my TV. Never heard that before.

So far even if you shut the PS3 down when you turn it back on it will resume the download from the point it was when it was shut down.

I usually leave it on stand by during the day, but turn the main switch off when I'm going to sleep... GreenGoblin2099

it's called paranoia (read: They are afraid of the PS3 breaking..)

OR! they don't have the best job in the world, and they might not be able to pay the "insane" bills they are getting because of all the stuff they have put on Stand By mode.. no wait, that can't be. because Stand By mode isn't THAT power consuming... hmm, then its just Paranoia

I leave mine off while at work because my 1 1/2 year old son gets into everything. For some reason is drawn to my PS3 and 360. shaunchgo

Anyways, I'm not exactly paranoid because when im home i leave it on standby and when i leave my house for a few days, that's when i turn off the PS3 completely. I also do that with everything that has stand by (Wii, Computer, Xbox 360. Etc.)
