Do you like FPS?

I personally HATE FPS.

but unfortunately for me, it seems like that's the trend we are stuck on and will be stuck with that trend for long time.

but is FPS even that popular by gamers around the world? or mindless frat boys just tends to buy same games over and over again as long as it has different name? Just lik EA sports games.

So here's a poll to see how many people actually like FPS, and see if Sony is actually doing what PS3 owners want by ignoring most other genres and concentrating on FPS one after another.

Well I like them if they are used in a certain way. Like the way Mirrors Edge and Condemned use them.

Other than that no I don't like FPS.

Kids this is an example as to why you should stay in school.

They are way too rampant and fairly generic these days. It's an annoying trend. An occasional FPS battle is fun, but I very rarely play FPS these days. I loved early console ones like Perfect Dark and Goldeneye

I love any kind of shooters, so yes. I don't understand why people are complaining that there's too many shooters on the PS3. I mean back in the PS2 days, there was a s***load of RPGs and a few shooters so I guess it's just karma.QuebecSuperstar

FPS on the other hand is mostly about gameplay and there is little to vary between those gameplay.

Not to mention story is pretty generic too, often fighting aliens or something while being big muscular guy with big gun. or world war II

In other words, there was point of getting multiple RPGs, but little point getting many FPS

When talking about FPS games, I divide them into two categories. The ones for the PC and the ones on a console. On the PC, FPS games are what keep me busy and entertained, when referring to games. But on the console, like on my PS2/PS3, I don't dare to touch them, because I get motion sickness. Which is strange and awkward, since I'm a dominant FPS player when on the PC.

For consoles, a big no to FPS games, in my personal opinion and experience. But if I wouldn't get sick, I'd more or less surely play them.

I don't agree with you simply because not all gamers feel compelled by a story-driven game. Nobody's a lesser gamer because they prefer their games action-packed. Your last line may very well be valid for you personally but it doesn't illustrate a universal standard. Besides, every single game genre becomes redundant over the years. It's not just a shooter thing.

i like fps, but thats just cos theres so many out there and i sorta adapted to the videogame market and started playing fps games (a majority were just major suckages, though) and i started to like the genre. but the problem is this: theres to many of em and a lot are just fking ripoffs of other fpses, like half-life or halo or something...

i dont like them very much .. but there's a lot of FPS games so i have to love them..

i prefer TPS , RPG and strategy ..

I hate FPS together with turn-based RPG and MMO.

I just don't like it when you can't see your character and I find it really funny that when you look down, you don't see anything. Hehe! And I love to explore and rome around, you can't always do that in FPS because there are no safe areas. There are always enemies in FPS who will shoot you on sight.

I like FPSs but only on the PC. I don't play them on the consoles. I just prefer playing them with the mouse rather than that little nipple on the controller.

Sony is actually really concentrating less on shooters than M$. Sony supports games like LBP which are innovative, exciting, and have incredible potential but they also know that they have to have shooters. To answer your question I enjoy shooters but am so FRIGGIN tired of a new WWII/Sci-Fi/Modern coming out every friggin day!! The shooter market is just waaaay to crowded and devs should really concentrate on NEW games not NEW ways to blow ppl to bits(not that i don't enjoy that ;)). Just look at LBP and how excited ppl are for something new and exciting! Whew I'm glad I got that off of my chest.

Only if I'm in the mood for them. But I much prefer third person tactical games to be honest.

But yeah, for a little bit there, a majority of my small PS3 library were FPS. Didn't last very long since it go pretty old.

I really like FPS, and I play alot of them, but I still enjoy other genres like platformers and action adventures. I think it would be boring just playing FPS all the time.

my favorite genre, if you dont like games like far cry2, killzone2, resistance2, and all the other great fps's than damn. and sony isnt releasing that MANY FPS GAMES i wish they would put out more.
