I love it. I used to not like it because I grew up with the gamecube controller and the Playstation controllers always felt weird because both joysticks were on the same axis, but now that I'am used to it, I can't touch another controller.

I like the PS3 controller, although it isn't great for FPS games. However I prefer it to any other controller out there overall.

I like everything about it except the L2/R2 triggers. Even the Dualshock 2 was better in this regard.

At first I didn't like the "triggers" because they were uncomfortable but now that I have gotten used to it, I don't have any complaints about the controller.

I have relatively small hands for an adult male and I find it fits perfectly. I don't like the Xbox pad at all.

Everything just feels natural and in the "right" place.

i love the d-pad, but i like the 360 rubber and inverted thumb grips. also i wish the analog had a slite bit more resistance to them. the triggers i used to not like, but now im used to them. the buttons are easier to press than 360 ones which is good (especially the L1 and L2 compared to RB and LB). the 1st ps3 controllers w/o rumbleshock simply sucked, thank god they have them now

I have mixed feelings about it, but I like it better than the Xbox360 and Wii controllers. The only thing I don't like is how the L2 and R2 buttons slant back. It gets uncomfortable for my fingers on certain games.

Absolutely love it. For me personally I prefer PS3 controller for pretty much any game genre, including FPS. The analog sticks being right next to each other is giving me perfect collaboration with moving and shooting while I'm having harder time aiming more accurately on 360 controller since the left analog stick is higher. It's weird but it's giving me harder time to aim faster and more accurate then PS3 controller.

In the end it depends on a person, everyone have their own preference really. :)

I personally think that the xbox controller is much better. i feel that it fits ur hand perfectly and u can reach all button without straining yourself. ps3 on the other hand doesnt exactly flow in ur hands the way xbox does. plus, when i use a ps3 controller, i gotta move my entire hand to reach some of the buttons, otherwise its not comfortable for me

They really needed to make the sticks better. Add more resistance and grip. Other than that everything is dandy.

I have a sixaxis. I like how its really lightweight and the analog sticks have held up extremely well for me. PS2 controllers always seemed to have their analog sticks wear out after 6 months of use for me.

I really hate the l2 and r2 buttons though on the ps3 controller. For games where you only need to tap these funky triggers every once in awhile, they work ok. However, for games like Red Faction Guerilla where they function as driving controls and you have to hold them down constantly for long periods I find it really starts to hurt my fingers after awhile. Like, the angle that you have to push them in feels so akward. I really miss the normal L2 and R2 buttons on ps1 and ps2 controllers.

I had no problem moving from the PS2 controller to the PS3 controller. The other controllers are very uncomfortable the few times I even tried then.

I like the PS3 however I find the L2 and R2 a bit crap. I recently bought those 'real triggers' and they initially felt really odd but now I am used to them they are amazing. Most notably on red dead redemption where these buttons are aiming and shooting.

Love it. And I love how Sony have retained the same style, with only minor changes, across all generations of Playstation. I just find the controller to be pretty much perfect.

What buttons require you to move your entire hand? I'm really curious about this! I also don't see how the 360 controller (larger in size) wouldn't require the same thing for reaching buttons. @TC... I love the PS controllers, and always have. I don't have a lot of experience with the 360 controllers (don't own one), but I like the PS controllers better. Maybe it's because I use them all the time;)

I like it alot, I never liked how other controlles have one analog stuck on different part of the controler. I like R1 an L1 cause you shoot faster. I freefer using shapes insted of lam A, B, X, Y bittons. That just feel unoriginal.

Grew up with the Dualshock way back in the PS1 days so when I got my hands on the Dualshock 3 the fact that it was wireless blew my mind from the start. I mean, it's an expensive controller, but it's rechargeable and all, has an adequate d-pad for 2D fighters and stuff, and I've actually grown accustomed to the triggers a bit, but mine have been squeekin' due to rampant Modnation Racers play.

I love it. I loved the PS2 controller but the only problem I found was that the R2 and L2 buttons used to stick. Now we have squeezy triggers, they don't. They also fixed the weight problem with the DS3 (Sixaxis was way too light).

Perfect size fit for the average gamer, the L1 and R1 helps if you have a trigger finger for shooting games. Controller feels like it was made with quality. Easy to grip.

Yes. It's ergonomically superior to the 360 controller. It's sleek (not bulky) and conforms nicely to the hands. Plus you can effectively play fighting games with the PS3 pad. I don't dislike the 360 controller but I can't believe it still utilizes that ridiculous pad. Its shoulder buttons are creaky too.

It's a good, solid controller. I find it a little small though. I do have quite big hands (you know what they say :P), and I would like a bigger version, perhaps more crafted to the shape of your hands like the Xbox controller. Concave triggers would be much improved in my opinion. The thing with the triggers at the moment is this: R1 is perfectly in the right place for use with your index finger. R2 is too far behind the controller for easy use with your index finger. But it isn't far enough out from the controller (I mean under the controller more, then extended downwards a bit more) for comfortable use with your middle finger. R2 and R1 (or L1/L2) can't be used easily in conjunction with one-another, like Resistance wants you to do with crouched Alt fire, because you have to stretch your middle fingers too far making it uncomfortable. If R2/L2 were further under the controller it would also help as you could hold the controller up easier.

EDIT: Xbox controller shape + Xbox triggers tilted downwards a little bit + Playstation R1/L1 buttons and face buttons, with the sensitivity of the PS3 analogue sticks with a concave shape = the perfect controller for me.

That ^ ! My only problem with the triggers is that they are shaped kinda weird so it gets hard to press them for long periods of time like Gta 4 or Burnout Paradise when you're constantly pressing the gas. Lol.

TO EVERYONE COMPLAINING ABOUT L2 & R2, BUY THESE:

PS3 Dual Triggers

Seriously, they're $5. They clip right on, stay on while you're playing, and are still easy to remove. If more of a whole controller redesign is what you're looking for there are 3rd party controllers that match the setup of the other console's controller. I love the Dual Triggers. Ever since I got them I can't play without them. Now I just need 3 more sets for my other controllers.

It's a great controller, the ps3 is the first Sony console I've owned, If I had owned the previous consoles I would say that I'd be getting bored with the same design over and over again as I like a change up every now and then. As this is my first ps I can say that I love the controller.

I wish it had the grip that the xbox 360 controller has, but other than that i love the button placement. The R2/L2 buttons would be the only thing i dislike as they make you have to wrap your hand forward, but its nothing but something to get used too.
