Do you need Datel Wi-Fi MAX, for monster hunter 2?

I can get on the internet with my psp and I am buying monster hunter freedom 2 tomorrow and if I want to play online would I need Datel Wi-Fi MAX? if I do thats gay.

what the hell does it do?

i have wireless internet and it works fine on my psp. what would i need an extra piece of equipment to play a game for?

cause the wifimax can send AdHoc signal onto the internet and monster hunter doesnt support online play. only adhoc

ah i see. still garbage though.

so i assume that the single player is a bit weak.

i just got the wifi max cuz i dont have a router. i got the dam thing set up and i get a signal strength of 100 percent, but i still cant get a connection. there is something that i aint doing right and im baffled ;(

Is there anyway around this? I have a router and my psp can connect to the inernet...So is there a way around this? pm me if your not allowed to post.

Yes, the game is local multiplayer only. Unless you have the wi-fi max.

You guys don't need that WiFi Max. You can use Kai which is copletely free. Look it up:

you need both to play it online, as the software just tunnels the signals through your pc and thus, simulates ad hoc.

You can use another wifi stick if you want, but make sure it supports "promiscuous" mode (which almost none do).

The singleplayer of MHF2 is great, however, you will soon be wanting to play it with others and thats why I wouldnt advice you to buy it, since there are only like 10-20 people playing it on xlink kai at times.

Monster Hunter 2nd G, on the other hand, is played but over 700 people at any time. Only be aware that MH2G is on Japanese.

For MHF1, there were about 60-120 people on at a time for the first year of release.

For MHF2,for the first few monthes, there were about 100 people, until it slowly diminished to a few people, hardly of which spoke english.

Just thought I'd point that out. Wifi Max wouldve been a good buy for MHF1 3 (Or was it 2..) years ago, but now, it's just a waste.
