To TC : If you want to know the story properly, yes, you'll have to play the first game. The thing is fans are divided on which they think is the better game. My advice is that you watch the video reviews for both the games to get a good view on how both games are like. Also, I'd personally recommend you get the first game because everything witnessed in the first game is the groundwork for the the second game's story. Yes, the games are fun.

And if you have a PSP, you should definitely get Resistance : Retribution. Unlike its console brethren, this game is a Third Person Shooter and is a blast to play.

resistance 2 pics up straight after the ending of resistance1 so yes, you should play resistance 1 to fully get the story
