in my case, for example, wednesday when gta iv came here, i played it like 5 hours straight, i didn't have anything else to do but then i felt all bad because it was too much for me not knowing what was happening outside... then my brother came and i said: "take this away from me" i went to my dining room and put cnn and i felt so much better... as much as i looove games i wouldn't ever trade it for cable... would you?
TV really sucks lately. Aside from the few shows that Im hooked with (SNL, Dexter, Heroes, Scrubs and Dr. House) I barely watch it. All I watch is Bloomberg TV, cause I check the stock market every day, and maybe some news sites, but most of the times they are somewhat biased. Internet provides much better news than any channel be it CNN or my local ones.
I rarely watch tv, on adult swim, espn or comedy central. Otherwise im playing games for about 2 hours a day, some nights none. But if i had to choose, probably games because i get bored of watching tv too quickly.
really i only play video games on the weekend i don't really have that much time during the week and sometimes right after school and stuff i just feel like chilling on the couch and not having to focus on playing a video game.
I have specific shows that I like to watch but in the end, I usually watch TV to make it so my head doesn't explode or play a game for too long, or when I'm eating I usually just flip the TV on, but most of the TV I watch is online, stuff like the Bonus Round and well, video stuff. I watch about an hour...maybe an hour and a half of TV a day and since well right here right now I'm waiting to get a new game but, whenever there's a podcast (I listen to about 3 of these a week) I simply have to play Aliend Hominid, Ikaruga, Assault Heroes or something mindless.
I have certain shows I watch. Sometimes I play a game and have the show playing on another TV to listen to it (but it doesn't last very long, need to mute it for pre mission cutscenes so I can hear) I don't like to over kill my games though. I like to balance them out. I find that if I overkill, it gets boring a lot quicker. Besides, it's good to take a break from either one.
it depends, Once I buy a new game and I really get into I will play it to death and not watch tv, but once the game is over and I have done it all, then I might watch more. I use the net to watch episodes of shows and movies I like, even though it might load slow. I use sidereel which is mostly crap now, flickpeek.com and watch-movies.net for all my standard tv purposes. I use youtube, megavideo, myspace.tv, animeseed, haru.tv, and animethat for all my anime needs. I use rapidshare, megaupload, sendspace, and bandango for all my music needs. I use DGEemu.com romhustler.net, and snes orama for all my classic system needs. yes I know it is illegal but I am not going to pay 5 to 10 dollars for altered beast and for some other classics that I will play once in a while and then just leave sit there and use up the wii's flash memory. Snes orama has almost every ps1 game for download for people who aren't satisfied with the psn selection.
I never watch TV so gaming for me. But if it would have been between movies and gaming it would have been much harder. But I would have to go for movies then.
tvs pretty lame. i could go w/o it 4ever. adult swim and heroes is good but other than that,most of the stuff i watch is on my computer. except movies...usually.
I wrote I'm in the middle - it depends on the situation. When I come home from playing sports, work, basically plain tired I tend to just watch tv. I love gaming and on a normal day would choose it over tv but there are times that I just rather passively sit and relax
For me, nothing beats a good movie, though TV shows come in a close second. I find that gaming is something that I indulge in when there is nothing to watch.
