probably, you could download so much with that and it will just never fill. I would go with 250-500 gb even then it's alot to fill, but i suppose if you want to seriously future proof yourself the 1.5tb is the way to go.

You'll get the most use out of an internal and the largest available is 500GB. Externals are only good if you have tons of movies from your PC and backups.

Well, I haven't filled a 40 gig hard drive on my PC, but then again, a thousand or two MP3s isn't nearly competition for 10 games that have 2 gb each install like my PS3.

If you are gonna keep all games installed plus download stuff, I'd say 250 GB is fine.

isnt it a good job u asked because you would have bought a 1.5tb hdd only to find its way too big to fit inside the ps3.

the ps3 uses a 2.5inch sata hdd (laptop hdd) as far as i know the largest they go is 500gb....so to answer ur question yes 1tb is too much its way too big to fit in ur ps3

While thats true, I believe its possible to use a 3.5'' HDD but you'll need to remove the cradle and modify the SATA connector a bit I believe. There's a youtube video of someone who's done it somewhere. But is it worth it? I'd say no.

If you're open to every genre of music, 1TB seems "pretty good". Not too much.

Pretty sure Seagate's barracuda 1.5tb is a desktop hard drive, with the momentus notebook HDD being 500 gigs.

Here

Be sure to check the combo deal box because then you get an external enclosure for free. That's used for turning your old PS3 hardrive into an external hardrive for further use.

Well, who would want it (which should technically be everyone) and who would need it (which is practically NO one) are too very different questions...

1TB isn't ENOUGH. I can barely keep my "collection" stashed on my current set up, and then there's the issue of backing up.

Oh, for PS3? I think you should just buy a PC instead of keeping all that crap on your PS3. You can stream everything to it anyway.

Yeah, I could've, but then I would've been compensating for having no valid argument. lol Oh geez, if any of my Gamespot buddies see this conversation, my "argue" rep is ruined!

Time will come when people will be laughing at how small a terabyte is... LP's & singles used to be cool, so as the cassete tape, aren't people making fun of those who still use 'em now... it about evolution, upgrading, like a GB was so big a few years back!

Yeah 1.5 terrabytes is probably too much... But it is really cost effective. I was thinking and all you really need is one of these

Cable

hook it up and the drive would sit outside the ps3. You'll probably wanna get an enclosure as well. Either way it's pretty cheap for 1.5 TB

Depends how many movies you are going to hold. If you are stacked with movies and don't delete them, you can't go wrong with a terabyte. How much are they anyways?

Last I heard, PS3 had a 500gig cap limit. But an external terrabyte hard drive would work. But there's no problem with having too much space.

Heh you could always turn your ps3 into a huge porn hub.
