maybe a way late port but i doubt it, mabye they will make a sequel to it on both platforms. That would probably be better anyways because maybe then EA would understand the ps3 better so the game can be equal.
Mass effect could come to the PS3. It's not impossible, but it's not likely that they will spend the time to port it over. A 2nd Mass Effect game is more likely to reach the PS3.
With Ea owning the rights.. good chance. .. depending on how well it will sell on the 360.. Good chance for a pc verison though.. thats the one I would be getting.

They dont own the game. I hate when people make topics about things they dont read or understand. Ea is buying pandemic stuidos and bioware but the deal dosent start till january. Bioshock is coming out in november. Therefore it will not be coming to the ps3 anytime soon. Plus they would have announced a ps3 version by now.

Well in the gamespot article it said "In return for paying a princely sum, EA becomes the owner of both BioWare's and Pandemic's original properties. Jade Empire, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age". So I think it could happen but it will be on the ps3 late next year.
EA doesn't make exclusives or really allow for them (well except for the wii) unlike Ubisoft who does it to some degree so I think it is fair game to assume that future releases will come to ps3. They could even make them port it.
Mass Effect is NOT a RPG : it's a shooter with a good story, did you ever see a RPG where you aim at enemies with a reticle, see your character as in Gears of war? I watched the long gameplay video on Youtube, there's a levelling system, but the action is only shooting
Mass Effect 2 will be multiplatform. Its almost a guarantee. But i think the first one will probably go to PC as well but not ps3 because microsoft publishes the game. Now if EA were to publish a port would take at least a year or 2 before it comes out. By that time it will have been played to death so it wouldn't sell well. But ME 2 and ME 3 are fair game for multiplatform.
i think there will b a pc verison within a year of its release but ps3.. i dont think so.. most EA ps3 ports have been rubbish anyway... with the 360 looking sounding and feeling alot better

so that would make it an ACTIONRPG much like Jade empire and or baldurs gate..
You had direct control of the slashing\hacking\punchin\casting in those games too .. but the leveling system and the character interaction is what made it an rpg.
Seriously if Mass Effect is successful and it will be then EA will try to make the most of this cash cow and bring it to multiple platforms. How long would it take them to port it over? 6-8 months. EA takes over the Mass Effect IP in January by which time they will know how successful it is, EA will look at that and say multiplatform it especially with the growth of the ps3 install base. MS maybe publishing the first one but who is to say EA won't make a remake or port it later to the ps3. MS can't pay EA enough money to keep it exclusive, not after seeing how much they can make off of it, and they don't want MS to take those profits. I wouldn't be surprised if they make a Mass Effect Goty edition (if it wins) that includes more content for ps3/360/pc.
Mass Effect will be a good game, will it come to PS3?
There is always a possibility since EA is involved, however I believe that PC would be first to receive it if going by developers record. Time will tell.
