I sort of think he should. For one, he's aging horribly...I'd hate to end the game wondering how he's going to get by. Two, I think it would make the legacy of his character even more awesome. And third, it would close the door for future Metal Gear games featuring Snake.
I voted yes because it's supposed to be the end of the MGS saga. If he were to live, it would just leave the door open to Konami possibly milking the franchise in the future. It's not like Kojima won't make any more games; in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if he puts out future games in the MGS universe, just not with Solid Snake. RIP, dude.
from the end of the first one you know snake is going to die because he has FoxDie, if he does somehow live i would question hideo kojima on his dramatic approach... it jsut wouldn't make sense for him to live.

No I don't think Snake should die in MGS4. I believe MGS4 can still have an amazing ending without the need for Snake dying. The ending should show that the age of Solid Snake is over (not 'dying' over) and he passes the baton to the next generation of soldiers.

Well technically all we know is that Naomi told him he has six months to live.
I dont think he should die. Not because I want further games perverting Kojimas work, but because if he dies, its too much cliche. I think he should live, but making it so that it cant be continued. Dying or suiciding would be an easy exit for his suffering, I think Kojima should give him some pain, but also learning. Make him realise that he should live
I will form my opinion once I play the game. Whatever happens, if it fits perfectly within the narrative, then I'll agree with whatever's Snake outcome is. I guess we can still see as him dying, as he will no longer play a role in the series.
He have haid the foxdie inside him since MGS, and he asked Naomi how long he still have to live. And Naomi was the one altering the FoxDie virus in him before MGS, so I bet he will die from FoxDie and I hope he will to.
From the perspective of the plot, I think it would be a fitting ending for him to die and finally complete the MGS series. However, Snake and indeed the majority of MGS always has ways around these obvious endings and it'll definately be interesting to see the outcome!
