Do you think Tekken will make a fall release date?

I think Tekken 6 will make a fall release date due to Street Fighter 4 coming out this coming spring. Other than that I would say the game wouldn't be out by fall seeing as it doesn't have a set release date which most games that come out by fall have a set release date around august or so.

Hurts to say this but I think it'll be out February 2009 along with SF4, just my thoughts

This Fall is already too stacked with games for yet another to be announced for the Fall. In fact, many games would do better with a delay into the early part of next year.

Hopefully Namco realizes this, and takes an extra few months to polish the game.

Because it's trying to aim at not only us, but the general market itself.

If it doesn't make a decent "campaign/story" mode, it will be severely critiziced by critics(duh).

Well, your "industry freind" is actually dead wrong because the latest trailer of Tekken says 2008 release, and since Namco Bandai aint no Square Enix by taking a few years to encrypt the game into english, i would expect the game to be released early 2009

He's right unfortunately. The 2008 date on BR trailer is Dec '08 release in arcades in Japan, not even US. And T6 is getting scrapped all together, so we have to wait for BR to hit US arcades then wait some more till it comes to ps3 late '09

Bloodline Rebellion is more than just a title change. It's a full revision with new things to the arcade version much the same way that Dark Resurrection was to Tekken 5.

It would be nice if it did, but I don't see it happening. :(

Well, as it's been mentioned earlier the original arcade version of Tekken 6 has already been out in (japanese) arcades for about a year now. The December/Winter release you're thinking of is the arcade update Bloodline Rebellion. If Namco were to just release console version of T6 now/soon and just re-release it with Bloodline Rebellion later (like Tekken 5 and T5: Dark Resurrection), it'd be very possible to be out this year.

True, Tekken 6 was also released in the US arcades, but from what is reported it was basically a demo and not the final product. Top Japanese and Korean players were reporting how broken and unbalanced the game was, so much so that they said it wasn't even Tekken anymore and some vowed to retire from tournament play. So I don't think Namco is going to release plain ol' Tekken 6 like Tekken 5 then go on to add Blood Rebellion as an add on or even a new game. Also gotta remember Tekken 5 was released on ps2, but Tekken 5 DR wasn't. It was only released on PSP then later ps3. So that's not a formula Namco follows now Tekken X then Tekken X:XX(upgraded). I HOPE even a broken Tekken 6 is released though, because at least I can get a feel for the new Tekken and it'll hold me over till T6:BR, but I think the next and only Tekken will be T6:BR not T6 then T6:BR. That's what I meant by Tekken 6 was scrapped. It wasn't scrapped just actually named but also pushed back.

Maybe in 2009, and when it does I must by a PS3.

I also got a feeling that it won't stay exclusive to the PS3, Tekken has always stayed exclusive to PLAYSTATION but I don't see this one staying.
