Do you think the success of FF7 on PSN has signaled for 8/9? (and will you buy?)

After selling about 100,000 downloads and getting the # 1/2 spot (i forget) of most downloads, and considering that SE is probably making somewhere from $5-8 per download, do you think this means we will be getting FF8 and 9?

also, WILL you get them?

for 8, i am pretty hesitant. After having watched the Spoony One rip on it for 9 videos (look it up on youtube or his site) it looks like it might actually be worse than final fantasy 2 (japanese numbering)

however, 9 looks like an awesome game and i will totally get it if it comes, i always liked the more classical, less futuristicfinal fantasies (and for raving fanboys, that problem in FF did not stem from 7, it came from 6)

didnt get 7 wont get 8 or 9 but I am a huge fane of 1 2 3 and 4. Kinda fell out of love with rpg games after i turned 18

I hope 8 and 9 come out. I'd much rather play those two than 7. I'd definitely buy 8 and 9 if they eventually come out.

@chet why wouldnt you get 9 when it is the most true to the orgional game formula since FF5

I wont be getting them i already got all the final fantasy's for the PS1 theres no need to get it off PSN if i already have it

Considering that I just played final fantasy vii due to this PSN release, I would totally buy 8 and 9, as well as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 if they ever come out on the psn... I've been missing out on those incredible games...

..I still dislike the materia system tho'

I would get both 8 and 9. FFVIII for me right always freezes during the ending scene. Triple Triad is also very addicting for me. The cards in 9 tried to go along with Triple Triad but failed miserably. Zidane is a classic character though.;)

i agree, a psp remake of FF6 with great 2-D graphics would be a must-buy (if it had the advance bonus dungeon and espers)

I have both VII and IX. VIII is the only one I haven't played.

I bought 7, but i wish i hadn't. It's way too simple and easy for my taste. I always liked 8 more anyway. if they released it I might buy it but not right away.

well, the hype is because of how much it changed and defined RPGs after it, including FF8

I haven't bought Final Fantasy 7 yet. But I would like to buy it and Final Fantasy 8 and Final Fantasy 9 if they ever made their apperance on the PSN store.

8 was not bad, it just was a little too complicated even for hardcore RPG fans. It is very tasking. You could miss almost everything in the game. The way you level up takes forever. Knowing which magic to set to which attribute was a bit annoying. I always found that the system of junctioning magic stopped me from using it on enemies because I didn't want my stats to go down.
