Ferrari did get pretty stingy about how their cars were represented. I can imagine them not wanting to be in a game about illegal street racing.The_Rick_14
they don't seem to have an issue with it in movies such as redline.

Hmm good point. Funny how for a while there they did have a problem with being in Gran Turismo though. Maybe the price was just too high.
I can see Ferrari in Grant Turismo, but it is a bit tough to do so in Street Racing title.
I get more joy from customizing my own car the way I like it in NFS series.
Then again, it wouldn't hurt to have it.
But that doesn't make sense. I mean Ea has nearly limitless pockets and i don't think that Ferrari license can be too expensive for a company like EA. But still it would be nice if we were able to tinker with a F50 or some of the newest ferrari models in their new game.Mcgnnis1
While EA may have the pockets to go around buying up anything they want, the reason they have such deep pockets is because they're usually smart about what they spend the big money on. There's a point where it doesn't make sense financially to buy a license.

Movie makers need no permission from Ferrari to produce a movie having Ferrari racing in it.
But game developers need permissions. And very likely Ferrari doesn't like a game with such ghetto taste and a dmg system built in.

why is it movie makers don't need a license?

If the car they film maker use will be involve in a stunt or any tampering with the car they have to get the permission. If the film make just going to use the car for one scene where a actor or actress is just simply driving or getting out the car, then permission is not required.
