Nope. Another feature that means nothing to me.
Is it good to have it? Of course.
Is it a make-or-break thing? Of course not.
I would not mind having it. What I don't like is if Ps3 comes out with anything they are considered copiers. I mean how can you copy a ranking system, It is kind of common sense to have it when you play in a point based online world. I think the reality is that everybody gets ideas from everybody and that is what makes the tech era move. I will not even get mad if 360 switched to blu-ray or if they make online free. I will just say good move, because they are going with the new current hotness.
Oh let me say that again.... The new current hotness....lol
I don't have a life. And I don't want to shout that out with a gamerscore.Vyse_Legends
lmfao.
But idk. I dont play games just to get the achievement points, I just like to show others how much I enjoy certain games by having a high gamerscore in them. Its hard to explain, but I really do enjoy the achievement system. Even in subpar games, it gives you reasons and goals to play to that you normally wouldnt.
All I know is that I dont buy games for the PS3 unless they are exclusive because I would rather have them on my gamerscore.
Talking about it , it sounds dumb as hell, but its something you have to play with for a while to fully appreciate it because at first I thought the whole idea was ridiculous.
i think its a cool idea. I used to have a 360 and it was interestingxps600I think it would be pretty awesome.
i don't care so much about having a BIG gamerscore (because i don't buy that many games, i carefuly choose them and having them only for gamerscore is not interesting me)
but having a gamerscore and objectives is a good idea for adding some small replay value and i like it ...
I don't care about it just for the fact that I got caught up into that stuff on the 360. I found myself playing games I wouldn't normally play for points, and no longer playing games I actually liked because I had all the points for them. Then you have all the boosters/cheaters, I'm glad I don't care about that anymore and I'm actually enjoying playing games again.Yng-ePIc
I couldnt have said it better my friend!! I played some of the dumbest games just to get 1000 points. The achievements are cool because with some i felt like i actually acomplished something (Ex. getting 10,000 kills in Gears of War) When i unlocked the Seriously.. achievement i felt relieved.
Rankings, thats another story. I think ranking systems are aweosme. And what im talking about is rank in FPS games such as Rainbow Six, Resistance, Warhawk, GRAW2, Call of Duty, those kinda ranks i think are awesome, because you can get an idea of how good someone is by there rank.
Thats my 2 cents.

I like ranking systems too, I just don't care for the gamerscore idea anymore. I'm playing Warhawk at the time and I like ranking up and customizing my character. I'm just recovering addict from the killer drug.....ACHIEVEMENT WHORE!!!!:D
it matters to me somewhat. i dont really need an "acheivement" system to make agame fun but it does add alot more depth. You basically beata game once, twice etc andetc, the gamewill get a bit stagg.the "acheivment" aspect of the game lets youhave that extra bench mark tokeep playing for(it basically keeps the game fun). just my opinion
You can say what you want, but thats the whole reason I aint getting a ps3 this year.
I thought Home was coming out this year, but not anymore!
I'll get A ps3 When Home comes out, because the ps3 Right now Has no Community
i only want a gamerscore if its a level system, not just points. kinda like on here, you know you get points added to your total for everything you do on your PS3, not just in-game achievments. that the "next gen" gamerscore IMO.americahellyeah
Good Idea man, But I would still go with trophies, but if not trophies I'd go with ur idea.
i prefer what is in warhawk, resistance and heavenly sword. In warhawk/resistance, when you rank up you get new outfits skins etc, not just pointless points. In heavenly sword you can unlock artwork, videos. making of stuff, and the anime.... I wish more games did stuff like this. In gears of war when you beat the game on the hardest level you get a gamerpic. I think it would be cool if you got stuff like that or wallpapers or themes etc.
I got tired of acheivement points last year because they really have no point to them... Rewards are far greater than points.

I totally agree.... some of the acheivements in some games are so obscure, and pointless that its just NOT fun to try to get them. Worst example is Dead Rising, there are tons of obscure little acheivements to get that are all not terribly fun to get. Bioshock actually had decent acheivements, they all tied into the game well and none were too obscure or not fun to do. "Seriously..." is probably the worst acheivement there is... who has time for that? I'd rather be playing other games and having fun.
The last straw with acheivements for me came with that Old Spice challenge garbage. The moment I was almost tempted to rent that turd of a game "King Kong" just for the easy acheivement points, I took a step back and realized how pointless they are. Give me rewards not acheivement points!

I admit, i used to be an achievement whore!! But i did find out they have rehab for those kinda things, its calleda PS3!! I started playing resistance and seeing that i could have fun in a game and earn things other than achievements, and i actually get more enjoyment out of the black ops/black ops skull skin in resistance than i do my gamerscore :)
Like i said, Rank in games is a totally different thing. I love having a high rank and unlocking things to customize my character! Im still trying to get the "Shirtless skin" in resistance, but i started a new profile so i could have a positive Kill Death Ratio :) lol
Add me to your PSN man, mine is jchaff
i could give a toss about either. i read in the x360 forums not too long ago about someone getting teased on xbl because his gamerscore was so low-that is just weak. my gamerscore right now is around 300 go ahead and have at me :Pharrmonica
I think thats the DUMBEST thing ever!! I hate hearing stuff like that, if your gamerscore is low it doesnt mean that you suck at games, it means you enjoy them! Mine is over 15K and ive never made fun of someone with a low gamerscore.

That about sums up my feelings.

In Gears of War i got all the online achievements not because i played for them, but because i enjoyed the online game play. Having "seriously" shows people that i know what im doing when i play Gears of War, IMO.
Dead Rising, my 2nd fav 360 game, but the achievements did kill it in a way. I looked at the achievements one time, seen them, and didnt look again! You had to do stupid crap to get 20GP, but Dead Rising was an amazing game!!
Gears and Dead rising were awesome games, and i got all the Gears achievements because i loved the game, and LOVED playing it!! :)

Explain to me how you got addidcted to a gamerscrore.
i wish games would make some achevements that you really had to work for and were fun to get.
Ex. An achievement for getting a gold chocobo in FF7. I know the game is anchient but that is a perfect example of something that is fun and difficult at the same time and its defanitly note worthy of an achievement.
It is something that is not required in the game so, to me that gives it extra value!
