well i read that its already surpassed the cgi in some parts and that was last year when the guy involved in it was in an interview, and he also said that it is very possible for it be as good as the cgi
so i have my fingers crossed that it will look like it, but even if it doesnt look like it im gonna get it no matter how it turns out
with the PS3 it's possible. i just don't think they could pull it off this soon. maybe with a bit more PS3 hardware experience.
and keep in mind that Guerilla created the best looking FPS on the PS2. and it looked so good that it was too much for the PS2 to handle. it became obvious at some points during the game. some areas were even bugged but Guerilla has total freedom now so be ready to see the PS3 like you've never seen it before. i think it's possible to recreate the E3 trailer in real time. The Cell is something that people will try to copy 8 years from now.
And when i say look i also mean animation, effects and everything else in the trailer.michael098
no!!! but i hope they reach the same line as UT3, i think most people would be happy with that!!!

i could say they surpassed UT3 without even seeing the new Killzone footage. Killzone is going to change the world of shooters. the best shooter in the world won't exist on the 360. it will be property of Sony.
Killzone PS3.

killzone don't need to have to look like cgi to make it the best shooter!!! gameplay make that!!! if you look around right now the only thing killzone need to beat is UT3!
[QUOTE="ReverseCycology"]Killzone2 will be Game Of The Year.

who is Conan O'Brian!!! they said he's name in AGI.
Its gonna be a great game no matter what... as good as the CG trailer? no.......... close to that Possibly which will be a feat in itself i think the animation in it will be there hardest to duplicate imo
its gonna be a great great amazing looking game buts its still gonna get crapped on by people cause of that damn CG trailer.. that trailer was a mistake imo
Well, looking at how close Blue Dragon is (sorry for mentioning 360 stuff here) to today's 3D animation, I'd say hell yeah it's possible on the PS3 for Killzone to look close to the concept trailer. With the right engine behind the scenes, it could look exactly like it. Just look at the Crysis engine or the engine being created for Project Offset. It's totally possible.Teyon
Blue Dragon doesn't have Motion Captured animations, they are just hand made and it shows. The Killzone trailer had perfectly motion captured animations for EVERY character, with no links between separate sets of animationswhich i think is impossible as it would take forever to do. I really don't think it'll ever be possible to make perfect animations in-game for every single character, or at least not untill there's a HUGE (millions of animations) Mo-Capped animations engine or something.

Heavenly Sword is fully mo-capped, so the chances are really good. Oh, and in the 3D world, motion capture isn't the be all and end all. We actually only recently started to really accept it as something you can do without having to clean it up. Just an FYI from a modeler/animator. :)
Oh....and I totally agree with your Sig. Those two games rock hard.
guys check out the trailer again, it wasn't that good. It's totally doable, take another look at it. The people, weapons, atmosphere, Epic has graphics that are close (keyword close) to it now. Only thing i think they would change is the effects.
The fire for example, it looked cool but not realistic. Plus that type of effect isn't doable on even PCs right now. (ingame)
Graphics? Yes
Smoke Effects? Yes
Sound Effects? Yes
Animations? No, however, I do expect some pretty impressive ones. (just look at what Naughty Dog is doing in Uncharted, I expect somewhere around that degree)
I really don't know why so many people think that the graphics are impossible to create, when in reality, the animations were the most impressive parts of the E3 2005 trailer.
I think it would be cool if they remade the trailer in real time. To make it easyer to compare.Devils_Joker_22
It would be nice if we saw the start of the trailer, with those guys talking on the hover platforms, and then the gun is pulled out, and starts to fire, while someone walks on stage holding the controller and playing it.
Or they could just do it the standard way, by having a bunch of powerpoint slides, followed by inviting the person out to play.
Hopefully they bring out someone actually good, that doesn't get owned with invincibility enabled (see: Genji 2 demo)

Yeah, this is pretty much how I feel as well.
Textures, geometries and lighting can be at the same level or higher than that of the trailer
Those phisics, animations and particle effects can be donewith80% the quality of the trailer
But what i'm worried about is gameplay, i'm tired of generic FPSs....

No. That's impossible. I expect them to have a spectacular engine that surpasses UE3, however. If they don't, they've pretty much lost a sale. As long as they put together something impressive, and nail the gameplay, I think I'll be happy.
