I don't have the first (I just rented it a while back), but I would guess the second. But really, if you're going to buy the second, you should really consider buying the first, because Resistance 2 starts right where Resistance: FOM left off.
Resistance 2 probably. But I would invest my money in a game like Bad Company 2 because they're about the same cost. I just grabbed it off of the EA store.

Same here, I've nearly finished the Co-op trophies and then it's onto the competitive ones. :] Hopefully I don't get too bored and quit. -__- Ahh the 10k kills trophy. I remember everytime I would go play competitive to rack up some kills, I would end up back on Coop. The Coop in that game is really fun/addictive.

I did all the co op first to get that over with. Now i regret it, should of got competitive done with because it's hard to get stuck on it. I get 100 kills then get bored and play again a month later. And co op is so fun
The community is still active (kinda), but really at this point I would just rent them and wait for Resistance 3.dk00111
I doubt that is coming out, and I play that game a lot, I'm trying to find more people to co-op, but cant find good team players :( my psn is my username, so if you wana co-op add me ;)

Honestly, I think that both Resistance games had a stronger single player mode than online. So in that sense, it's worth buckets more than a game with a more active community but a weaker single player mode to me.
I liked the singleplayer. You should buy them both. The multiplayer was nice too but I barrely played the first one online though, the split screen was fun though.
the community is still active, there arent as many as they used to be, but god damn today i went on resistance 1 and i was able to find a match, took about 2 min but after that 2 min wait i was in and out of games, i was surprised that the servers and ppl were still active. in custom, non ranked games theres plenty of servers up that ppl play, almost every room is filled with 15 to 20 ppl
