To be honest, I've never owned any NHL game, but they do roster updates in Madden, FIFA, and NBA Live. So I think we can assume it's in NHL too.

Its seems to be very frequent. I know when the Caps did the Chimera/Chris Clark trade that the roster was up to date very quick.

Ohh that sucks :( It's the reason I haven't brought a sports game in years. To keep shelling out $60 every year for pretty much the exact same game with updated rostes is bogus IMO.
