Does Fallout 3 still have any problems with it for PS3?

I am asking this question because my brother wants to get it for his birthday coming up next week. I told him you guys might have the answer. Is it as glitchy still as when it first came out or has the new patch fixed most of the problems? Thanks for any help!

It seems like after you've been to a lot of places and done a lot of exploring it will start 'lagging'. Then after a minute or two it will totally freeze, but sometimes it will start up again(about half the time). I've only had this happen to me three times, I think it happened to my brother about 4 times, and total we have about 80-90 hours of play time, so it doesn't happen that often. Also, when you notice it starting to 'lag', just save, quit the game, and start it back up. I've tried doing it a couple times and it's been fine afterwards. Oh, and they have added trophies in case you haven't heard :D

EDIT: And tell your bro he made a good choice, the game is awesome if you like RPGs, exploring, or shooting things xD

yes it funkin does fallout 3 is my fav game and im finally online now and i downloaded the patch to fix all the problems with it and now it freezez on me more then ever :(nd we dont get dlc >:(

Fallout 3 wasn't that bad to begin with... there's just a lot of people out there who like to complain about every little thing, particularly when it can be made into a System Wars issue. Even with the glitches it shipped with -- which weren't game-breaking, but WERE annoying and HAVE been fixed -- this game was still worth twice what I paid for it.

Yeah freezing is a little thing and it freeze very often on me + sometimes a glitch that I dont even heard what the people speak..Yesterday I explored like 1 hour the wasteland and then 1 sec killing deathclaw and it froze.I was so angry because I didnt save before that

Dude!!!!!! I was playing F3 for about 3 hours and it started to lag in all areas. I saved and quit because I was scared and I turned off my ps3 before it froze. Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I passed the game 2 times already , didn't had a single freeze or bug . The game runs great .

There still are bugs to this game that apply to all of the systems it's on. But most of the PS3 only bugs are ironed out.

If you aren't logged on to the PSN, there is considerably less lag. That is my experience anyway.

The bugs didn't irritate me that much.. I thought it had serious problems. But it's nothing to not buy the game for.

i NEVER played b4 the Patch Update , but i have not experienced Freezes, Glitches, BUgs,with the 1st patch, i think the game its awesome! xD

Wow, i suffered this problem, the game was laggy and choppy, i was scared (4 hours playing) and just restarted the PS3 :D

Aside from a couple of hilarious glitches (Paladin Hoss comes to mind), the game plays fine.
Though like fritter7 said, once you've explored many areas/accomplished many things, the game will occasionally start to freeze up on you.
This mostly happened to me while in VATS, but it was never permanent. After 15-30 secs, the game would eventually return to normal.
I've only ever had 2 actual crashes that required a manual PS3 restart (in a total of about 60-70 hours of gameplay).
