People are telling me to get an HD TV because it's blowing them away. I don't know if I should save up for an HD TV. Is it worth it? I have a standard Norcent tv which sucks badly. Im not sure what to do. I don't even know how much these things cost. Give me some advice please.
Their is a big difference I didn't think so at first when playing on my SDTV, but when my parents bouth the 50' 1080p TV there was a big big difference
The quality of a HDTV willbe evident when you finally play it on one, but make sure it's a quality one. You might get the urge to drop your money on a lower quality one just for the price decrease and you;ll find they arnt always worth the money due to the refresh rate or the color quality or a few other technical reasons that would make a beautiful PS3 game look pretty bad.
I can't believe ppl are still asking this question... the difference is pretty huge and you really are missing out on a lot if you're playing the PS3 on a regular t.v. If you have the ability to save up for an hdtv, there's no way you shouldn't. Not only for the games, but for blu rays as well.
HDTV's dont change the graphics of the ps3 but they inhance them. they cost hella alot and well its a big diff. buy one. you can get a 32' for around 1g-note

you can get a pretty dang good 1080i, 720p 32 to 50in LCD for about a 1000 bucks, i'm saving up for one as i type.
right now i just have a 480p, 1080i CRT which for some reason the PS3 screen gets cutoff, and once you see it in HD it really just won't look right on anything else.
