I can count on one hand the number of times I've turned off my launch PSP. I always use standby. Leaving it in standby does drain it a bit, but won't harm it.

Why not lose your spot in your game? Why not just wait 5 minutes for it to load? Why have any convenience what so ever? Your post was completely unrelated to the question at hand. I have left mine like that for a long time. It is a lot better then just leaving it on pause. I would say it uses roughly a 1/4 of what it might normally run for. Maybe an eighth. It does not hurt anything but of course you can't just expect it to keep your place in a game or whatever without using some power. If it was bad why would sony implement it... I pretty much always turn mine off, but my friend always puts his 1000 on standby and it hasn't seemed to hurt it at all...

I never turn mine off, I always use stand by. Why wait for it to load if you don't have to? Besides, I hate having to hold the power button several seconds to turn it off, I just switch it to stand by mode. And no, it does not harm your PSP.

It's been on standby for the past 5 days with Patapon 2 running. I do that a lot and haven't had any problems.

I wasn't going to even mention that(already got 2 warnings on my account so don't want 3) but yes that is a huge thing for me and others.
