Does Mass Effect 2 have side missions after the main story?

i want to get this game and play the story but there isn't anything after the story. any side missions?

I'm fairly certain you can't progress after the main story, but you'll be able to restart right before the last mission allowing you to finish side missions and exploring.

you can continue playing after the main story. [spoiler] that is if you are still alive [/spoiler] and you can continue romance situations, extra missions, survey missions as well as the DLC missions if they were not completed.

You can finish all the things you didn't, but if you're smart you'll do them before the end so you'll have alot more upgrades for the finale.

I played the 360 version. After the main story, you can go back and tackle things that you may have missed/not completed.

I'll say this: some of the DLC canonically takes place after the events of the ME2 main story, so it works better if you've finished the game before tackling it. Without spoiling anything, whether or not you can keep playing after beating the game depends on what ending you get.
