Sales skyrocketed in japan a little while back

People still seem to favor DS for some reason though

I've very much started to take Nintendo at their word of expanding markets. However they are doing it very much at our expense. So until they start to serve both markets I think there is going to be a backlash that will favor the PSP and Sony and Microsoft respectively. I think the PSP is going to level the market a lot more and that is impressive considering Nintendo has been intrenched for about 15 years I think.

Mhh, hello?, of course you enjoy better the PSP games from the DS games. Ok, some games like Super Mario DS are not bad, but c'mon, The PSP, even with its limit compared to its bigger brothers is way much better than the DS. In graphics, sometimes controls and in my opinion, games. I have the DS though, and I like it, but I prefer PSP. WAY more.

My opinion!

The PSP will have great sales for a couple months. It had phenominal numbers in Japan this past month, and I'm sure we'll be seeing close to the same for the coming month. It really is a great handheld, but it can't be compared to the DS in sales or numbers. They are two very different handhelds that reach out to different people.

I'm looking forward to Sony getting back on their feet. They've had a rough year until now.

It's not that simple. The DS have some great exclusives, a large library of games, dual screen and touch sensitive screen allow different kinds of gameplay to be explored, almost has no loading times (that counts a lot when you just wanna play for 8 minutes or so), has a lot more battery time, and it is a little smaller.

I honesty like both.

Ok, you got me there, but I just can't see why is DS selling so much. Ok for the touch screen and the large library of games (Though I don't like many), AND the fast loading, but it just doesn't... I guess DS it's not made for me. But PSP is sweet, portable, nice games (Especially those coming out soon) and nice graphics though its limits are short.

Yeah I know, I don't really appreciate the DS.

I own both the DS lite, and PSP Slim. Personally it's 50/50. I only play my DS when a game i like comes out for it, which is every so often. - Havn't bought a game since Pokemon was released for the DS. - And in between the time of no DS play, i pla y my PSP. The PSP libary is getting better then when it was first released. But i do enjoy the touch screen on the DS, makes alot of things easier. But then again the PSP's controls on games are quite fun and easy. So its doesn't make to much of a difference without the touchscreen. Argh, they are both just so good. >o'

Yes I think when all the A list games(Crisis Core, FFT, and more) come out in the next few months PSP is going to start to move. The slim is also helping the numbers. As for outselling the DS, well don't know if that is going to happen. The PSP did outsell the DS in Japan here this past month, mainly because of Crisis Core and the Slim. I think last I read they had sold 300,00 units in 3 days, which is phenomenal. I do like them both and actually have more games for the DS, but lately I play the PSP more. The PSP really is a more cinematic experience with much better graphics. The DS has some great touch games and of course the Zelda/Mario/Pokemon one two three punch. It is tough to beat those numbers, considering the fan base. I say I hope they both have long lives!
