I played through Resistance 1 and although it started out slow I thought it was EXCELLENT !! The weapon selection menu works so slick . Couldnt put it down with the exception of the vehicle levels and the jeep that never explodes lol.

So I bought R2 and so far I HATE it. Everything I loved about the first one is missing from the second one IMO . I am still very early on so let me know if I should give it a bit more time or flog it on ebay. I mean I really hate it so far. It aggravates me.

Whats with the fish that swims in a perfect rectangle around the floating structure in the first level ? I couldnt stop staring at that thinking how lazy the programers must have been.

Where did the perfect weapon selection system go ?

Whats with the level design ? The levels are so structured now and the voice acting is so annoying and overpowering . I miss being dumped off into a level all by myself to explore.

Should I give it more time or is it all the same from here on out ??

Resistance one gave you exploration? There was what... maybe the occasional branching path to a useless dead end with no enemies (or an intel item)? It was hardly giving you an option to explore. R2 got rid of the "all weapons" selection for a more strategical thing where you could only have a couple weapons I believe which makes you think about what you like and want... not a god (mind you, a game based on crazy weapons this is kind of limiting). I havn't really played the game, but I just had to make the first comment about the exploration.

R2 is a great game IMO... but i've said this several times... if R1 has R2's graphics, i'd pick R1... i miss the tank!

R2 is a lot different than one, but it does get a hell of a lot better. The San Francisco level is pretty shoddy, lot of unpolished moments there. You'll spot some undoubtedly lazy moments throughout, but nothing gamebreaking. The lack of AAA game polish you'd expect is a little dissapointing, but the game is still gorgeous in most areas, especially later levels. When I started I found myself hating the campaign as well, but its actually a great game, just stick with it for the first two levels.

"Whats with the level design ? The levels are so structured now and the voice acting is so annoying and overpowering . I miss being dumped off into a level all by myself to explore. " -There are alot of missions where you're dumped off by yourself.

I say give it another chance, at least finish it. The start isn't as good as the rest of the game.

R2 is awesome IMO. the co-op adds alot more fun i think.... i thought R1 multiplayer was bad but R2 is alot funner for some reason. i think the lack of vehicles was a good move, too halo-ish. the weapon wheel should have stayed in SOLO not multiplayer though.. its not unrealistic that hale could carry several guns, he had super powers! the graphics are amazing i think idk why people talk smack... especially like the first level where you see all the ships floating above. i wouldnt say it gets better because i never thought it was bad from the beginning

R2 has online multiplayer CO-OP like no other. The Single PLayer is very good the story is excellent especially the ending but I won't spoil it for you. With that said, their competitve online multiplayer is very lacking.

Get cod:waw for online multiplayer but use R2 for online co-op. Doesn't matter though, Killzone 2 will obliterate these 2 games.

I felt the same way when i started playing Resistance 2. I decided to suck it up and play through the game. It didn't get any better for me. The levels were still bad, the story doesn't get any better, and obviously the health and weapon system stays the same through the whole game. I say save yourself some time and just stop playing.

Too by honest, R2's single player doesn't really get better, it's pretty much the same. Co-op does get better as you gain levels though

It does get better. Are you in the San Francisco level? Just wait until you get to the outdoor secition with the bridge and city burning in the background. And the hundreds of Chimeran ships flying past.

Personally I thought Resistance 2 was great from start to finish. I hated all the indoor levels of the first one. 2 is outside except for a couple levels. I wish the story was more fleshed out, but overall it was a great game.

The single player did little to hold my attention. The multiplayer is fun, but I find myself putting in CoD alot more often.
