you cannot play campaign split screen but you can play coop online split screen. Don't know why they took that feature out of R1...i liked playing story mode with friends

Campaign is singleplayer ONLY, you can't play that online at all, and it's not splitscreen. You can however play splitscreen with your friends in Co-op, and both of you can play online aswell.
there is a separate campaign for coop, which is what splitscreen and online is. you CAN do splitscreen AND online fortunately, so you dont have to worry about missing the 3rd class
