Does Serial ATA = SATA?

I'm looking into upgrading my hard drive. I was looking at newegg.com and they list Serial ATA and SATA hard drives.Are they both compatible with the PS3? Also, if anyone has reccomendations about stores or hard drives, I'd appreciate it.
