Does seth ruin street fighters 4?

i think he does, i consealed myself in my room for 3hours, played on medium best of 3 and couldnt beat him.

not saying i think im a good gamer, but, if its that hard on medium there is something wrong.

Not really. He's hard and cheap, but he didn't ruin the game for me. Game is still awesome even though I suck terribly at it.

Seth isnt the prob Sagat and Zangief are. Now i can beat Seth in less than 3 tries now on the hardiest difficulty. It just takes time to learn his patterns

all boss fights ruin fighting games. think about it. how many fighting games can you name that have "normal" opponents then when you get to the end all of a sudden you gotta deal with something that is twice the size, bigger, stronger, faster, and can disappear and freakin fly? really its bull and usually i loose interest in a fighting game after i beat all the normal characters.

Yes, Seth does ruin SF4. He's the main reason I'll be trading my copy of SF4 in for another game. I also didn't like the balance problems and having to use the same two moves over and over again to get anywhere. Maybe I'll try Tekken 6.

Well the game is fine just not great. The problems are more annoyances that don't really break the game but are there nonetheless. The game itself is a regression from third strike. Even the people that created the game admitted they didn't want to improve on third strike, they wanted to bring back the basics of street fighter and make it simpler for new people and sf2 fans to get back into. They accomplished exactly that. A game that isn't as good as third strike but is more accesible.

I like 4 cause i'm a pretty sloppy player and this game rewards sloppy gameplay up to a certain point. It's also very exagerated and over the top like the mk games. (but not quite on the level of wtf that is mk) But all in all it's a fun game and that is what matters. It's also a bit more entertaining to watch compared to third strike.

Oh and btw I almost never lose to ken. Unless they are insanely good. You may want to get a mind of your own before you start making assumptions about people.

no i was able to beat him easily he's just cheap as hell but at least he wasn't as cheap as gill on 3

If you're trying to unlock characters, just set the difficulty to the lowest setting. Not worth the trouble unless you're going for a trophy.

I remember when I thought M. Bison was too tough until you get the hang of him. Seth to me is actually easier than M. Bison. Certain tatics work well against Seth. Perhaps you just need more practice with him.

Really? Well it looks like your no good with fighters :) Seth though cheap is not a hard character to beat, I have beaten him 1st go in extreme hard. I personally don't like Seth as a boss character but he doesn't ruin the game because the other characters are great fun to play as. I would say SF4 is some-what a letdown but still a decent fighter to keep me patient till Tekken 6, damn I still need to buy Blazblue :(

Umm... It's already known that Sagat and Seth were made to be cheap. The dev said so themselves. Also Gouki does not ruin online. Everyone always says that just because he can do two hadoukens in the air. Pfft, big deal. He has the lowest defence and anyone who can counter can destroy him.

There is a lot of truth to this comment and I have to wholeheartedly agree. I grew up with Street Fighter series and I could not get use to SFIV for various reasons.

Seth on medium is one of issue I have with the title.

the only thing about sf4 i dont like is the controls. they dont feel tight enough, some of the 2 in 1's it feels like you have to slip it in on this EXACT frame of animation or it wont work. the challenge mode drove me nuts trying to finish some of the normal combos n stuff. then you get in focus dash cancelling and all that stuff, thats too much

hah, we used to play sf2t on snes back in the day with the stars cranked all the way up. we never found it that bad, we just got real good :D

Just figure out his pattern and avoid being knocked on the ground, if he dosnt knock you down, he dosnt start his teleport spam. He, like all other characters, fights with a distinct pattern, figure it out and you wont lose another round. I know its harder than it sounds but with time it will come to you and seth will just be another fight.

I've never liked ultra cheap SNK god bosses. I don't know why Capcom is going down that route.

Not as easy when he spams teleport (to you) and the invincible, unbreakable throw that he has that he spams to death. Over and over again. Of coarse, there's nothing you can do against it. That close, that quick. It's virtually impossible. Especially when it can break through anything you do.

If you do (by some will of god), guess what? Super Seth Shoryuken up your arse for your troubles directly from an instant cancel that only CPU Seth can pull off.

Unlocking characters in that game was a chore.

Listen, just because you guys have no idea how to counter someone doesn't mean it's a problem with the game. You've all been spoiled by incredibly easy games like COD4 where if a game challenges you to think just a little it's "unbalanced"

Sagat is the best character overall in the game, however, as I stated earlier, at Evo 09 (you know, where professional players compete) noSagat user made it into the Top 8. What does that say? Skill and intelligence actually means something in this game.

R.I.P video games. I remember the day when you offering challenging gameplay that required you to think was accepted. Now everything has to be dumbed down and playable for blind people in order to be called good.
