Component video is not HD only you can use it on a standard definition TV. In fact component video will give you the best quality picture you can get on a SDTV.
The yellow red and white as you call them, or composite video to the rest of us - is close to being the crapiest you can get!Component is HD. It can't even plug into an SD TV. S-video gives you the best picture in SD.
I guess you have no clue about TVs then?hahaha. i think your the one that has no clue about tvs. From working at a home theater speacialty store, Component cables are hd and are capable of signals 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p. Composite cables are the worst of them all, doing 480i. HDMI cables are not the only hd cables. You should look things up before you type.
