I just bought one for 50 bucks and that isn't a lot since people buy MONSTER Cables for about 100 when HDMI gives a better picture.Solid_Max13
should have bought one from Monoprice for $15
> component and hdmi look no different
This is incorrect. They do look different, it may require a bigger screen to see the resolution difference.
I got a 3' HDMI cord at a local Wal Mart for $20. As it is a digital signal, a $100 cable isn't worth it.
no, you get a little better color and contrast with HDMI, plus you can then run in 1080p, so how is the quality of the low cost cables?Fire_of_Contee
same quality as the $100 MONSTER cables.

Just make sure the connections are good (look for gold plated) ... as long as the cable is connected properly and securely, then the actual transmitting of 1s and 0s is no different

All i can say is the quality is the same however the MONSTER ones are a whole lot more durable and better put together so if you plan on moving and putting your cables through a rough time id get a monster one however if you just leave them hanging there like a any normal person lol then they are the exact same in every sense

The difference is that the MONSTER cables are just better built and much more durable so if you plan on moving your ps3 and all that around alot and even changing the cables alot then get a MONSTER one but if not and you just leave them hanging there like any normal person lol just get a cheapie as you will see no difference

I don't think they're worth $100 even for their build quality. Most audiophile and videophiles will not even give Monster credit for that.
But yeah, a time to spend more is if you plan to move the cable a lot, so better construction will help it last, but like mentioned, most that even suggest this say to stay away from Monster still.
The $15 6' premium HDMI cable at Monoprice is pretty tough too, and thicker gauge. Just don't go overboard with such a thick and heavy cable that it's so stiff and heavy that it's pulling on your HDMI port more than it needs to. Anyway, you could buy a box of 20 regular HDMI cables for the price of one Monster cable, so most likely if one breaks from moving it a lot, you'll have a whole drawer to get more from, and to use for other stuff.
