fat32 is a type of formatting for the harddrive, i forget what it does compared to the other but yeah.
you could probarbly get a blu ray drive and somehow emulate ps3 games to the external hdd... but your own games, dont pirate.

Well I plugged my USB HDD and the PS3 didn't see it. What gives!?email2003Plug your USB HDD into your computer. Format it as FAT32. Then, put it back to your PS3. Look above your "Music" or "Photos" or Movies" and you'll see a HDD icon.
Thanks for info guys but it seems my format only does NTFS. How do I get it to format under Fat32 and if case it does format under FAT32, can I always format back into NTFS in the future!?email2003First of all. If your have a USB drive, it has to be relatively new. FAT32 is OLD! Yes, Windows 95 old and older...All computers have the ability to format in FAT32. And yes. You can format it back to NTFS if you want later. Are you using WIndows 95, 98, XP or Vista?
XP Pro. But under format, you can only select NTFS and thats it.email2003Have you formated it yet? Format it as NTFS, then see if you can format it again as FAT32. Maybe it's not even formated in the first place. My only other suggestion is to take it your friends house and have him format it on his computer.
Well I plugged my USB HDD and the PS3 didn't see it. What gives!?email2003It should format it itself.
Guys I have tried everything to get this USB HDD into FAT32 and still no luck. My computer won't do it and neither will anoither computer too. Any ideas into how to format it into FAT32!?email2003Get a new external USB. There's something wrong with it. Sorry.
Just right click the drive and select format drive.
The only external HDD I have can only be formatted in NTFS, that may also be the problem.
