No Avi. MPEG4 and others. But yes, it will read burnt CD/DVDs with pictures, movies, and music in their right format.

the only way the ps3 will read avi files is if they are streamed from the pc, and maybe thru linux.

Can you take a AVI file and change it to a "VTS i think it is?" I can do it the other way via Audio Gordian and a few other things I use. But I never have tried to make a AVI into a VTS file? Im not even sure if you can burn a VTS into a playable DVD. I know I have made playable DVD from AVIs? I just kinda do it lol, im not sure how? Im not sure if that would play in the PS3 or not?

Nah it wont work. And if u want to convert a file so u can make a DVD out of it use WinAvi Video converter. Converts anything to DVD format and it can also burn too. Find the torrent and download.

VOB is the name. I call it VTS because thats what AG will show it as "file name" after you convert it. But Auto Gordian "or however you spell it" Does not work well by itself. I use a DVD decrypter also, to get it into a VOB file from the DVD. Than use AG to make it a AVI. It just seems to make it much cleaner. And those programs change the file, if you make it into a playable DVD, and not just burn the AVI file as just a AVI file. You cant just stick the file in and burn it "if that makes sense?"
