Yes. It's like a bloody magnet. I generally place a towel over it if it's not in use. As for cleaning the inside, I'm not sure how you would do it, but like any piece of electrical equipment, it can affect it. I'm sure there's a safe way to clean it though.

Yes, mine is really dusty ATM since I haven't cleaned in a while. Here is the perfect solution I use though.

My PS3 got dusty real fast too and so I used a swiffer to wipe it clean, I didn't really do the inside because it wasn't that much dust, but to prevent the dust I just cover my PS3 when I'm not playing it.

compressed air in a can might work well for cleaning the inside... just spray around the vents?

yeah it will always happen

best things to buy would be some compressed air cans and some Pledge Grab-it's

you could also cover it with a towel when you are not using it, that is what i do sometimes and it stays pretty dust free

When I am not playing it, I place a fine cloth over my PS3 to prevent dust from getting and accumulating on it.

that is most likely the case with you cuz basements are moist and dust is primarily dead DRY skin flakes and things of that sort
