Hi,

So far these forums have given me great answers and i appreciate everyones help!

I have another question..lol

When you turn your ps3 system off (red light) or as sony says "standby mode"

Does it keep a fan on? Mine has like a little sound of a fan running at very low rpm and when i put my hand on the vents i can feel the air coming out.

So is this normal? Am i supposed to switch it off with the back switch or should i leave it in standby mode with the fan on?

So is this fan supposed to stay on like that?

thanks!

If you play often, then keep it on standby when it's not in use.

If there is a good chunk of time between play sessions, then shut it down completely.

I've never listened closely or anything, but as far as I'm aware, my PS3 doesn't make any noise while in standby.

If you have remote start on in the options, your PS3's fan will still run in standby mode, allowing you to turn on your PS3 from your PSP. Turning remote start off will stop the fan completely while it sits in standby.

Just make sure when you do flip the switch in the back that for this console, you wait until it goes into standby mode first.
