My ps3, and my 360 heat up my room like crazy. Really though its not even funny, lol but I guess its cause the ac unit I have in my apt is pretty far away and its hot outside so I cant even up a window. Although at my old place before I moved that had proper air flow neither my ps3 or my 360 affected my room.

I guess it depends on the space these console reside in, if its small bedroom then more then likely you will be able to roast a chicken in there otherwise in an open room your fine.

seriously, i used to run my PS3 with folding durng the winter because it could raise my room temperature up.  Mind you its a medium sized bedroom, but with the door closed, it was quite toasty.  My 360 does as well, I once ran them both simultaneously (PS3 folding and 360 Gears) and my room became boiling hot.  That is my primary reason for not folding in the summer, don't want to fight the A/C!

when it comes to heatin up my room, my PC is the way to go lol, but my ps3 always stays cool, the most heat i got out of it is when i ran it for 1week striaght but it didnt even get HOT, it was midly warm on the left top side , which is NORMAL, but my ps3 is 98% cool

It does not heat my room; but, since I have my PS3 next to me, the heat is shot straight into my face.  I counter that with a fan blowing in between.

Just don't keep Ice-cream on the right side of the console.  It'll melt.

You must have a very small room. My room is average in size and even with my two PCs, TV and PS3 running, I don't notice any raise in temperature. (however, the door is always open)

The PS3 is hot on the right side, but that's a good sign since it means the hot air is getting out of the system by those holes.

Depends on the person's room and if there's an AC or something. For myself theres no AC so its hot as hell and my systems dont help nor does the HDTV !  Next purchase is a AC unit for my room lol

Your body generates more heat than your PS3, maybe you are the one heating the room.

na. i have it set up vertically so that any heat leaves the system right away. it stays pretty cool. never really had any issues with heat at all to be honesty. if i touch the vent it feels pretty warm after playing for a few hours but the system actually has never felt hot.

do you have it really crowded or enclosed where it can't breathe? if you do that may be the problem. you can't suffocate. give it room to breathe.

My room gets hella hot because I have an old-ass 27" TV pumping off heat, my moniter pumping off heat, and my computer pumps off more heat than anything else because of the videocard! :o

It does throw off a good amount of heat, but so does my tv, laptop, computer and monitor. The heat is only on the edges of the console too if you'll notice, meaning there is no worries about the internals burning up. Heat doesn't mean catastrophe, noobs.

if i close the door, keep all windows shut, and have no fan going while im using folding at home than it heats up like crazy. But if im playing a normal game, doors and windows open, a fan on low going than its perfect.

My room get's warm but I think it's a combination of the PS3, the lighting in my room, my surround sound receiver, my subwoofer amp, and my HDTV.  With friends over in my home theater room I have to keep the door open. I'm not sure how to handle the heat right now, thinking of installing one of those bathroom fans too keep fresh air coming in and the heat out, but they are way too noisy. Haven't found a good solution yet.  Any ideas?
