this has and always will be the correct answer. choosing your name when you're young is no excuse, i came up with mine when i was like 14 and haven't changed it

How about posting in the #BetterPSN hashtag?

I'm with Sony. It's nice to know when you're dealing with a dummy upfront and user names help with that.

@AJC3317: people grow up, people change, just like how people like to change their avatar from time to time. They should be able to change their username.

The fact this feature isn't available after so long means that they aren't able to add it.

Because $$$. Xbox charges to change names.

Maybe if Sony sees it as another way to make money, they'll do it...but personally I hope they don't bother as there are other things I'd rather see improved.

It has been said in multiple public forums that you won't ever be able to change your name on PSN. They would have to rebuild PSN from scratch to support that feature.

@The_Last_Ride: Honestly, I think betterPSN has way too many things tacked on to it to ever be effective.

It's a wishlist with some stuff in there that aren't even better, but I suppose that would be a long discussion. Breaking down each and every point and determining if it's really an improvement or something some Xbox fan wants to see. Some stuff would be an improvement, but some of that list is just pipedreams or people basically wanting Xboxisms on PSN.

Anyways, that's not really the point of this thread as the user wants to change his name...and this particular "change name" topic has come up about 1000x at GS alone. I've commented on it over and over dozens of times.

The advice I have is people should take their time creating an ID and I said as much.
