Well,

If you notice that most peoples favorite games change has the gen advances

First it was MGS4

Now its Uncharted

Next year itll be last guardian and God of War 3

And another thing

At the beggining of this year Killzone 2 and Infamous were hyped as GOTY (well not infamous but still pretty high) and now its Batman AA and Uncharted 2 taking htat slot, and no one talked about these early 2009

Anyone else find it odd

It is not odd at all. As new breakthroughs are found in consoles (especially the PS3) each year, it is only expected that the games will advance and get better as well.

You are also forgetting FF13, FF Versus 13, and Agent too!!!

Snake Eater had over 3 hours of cut scenes, not exactly a light weight. Sure, the ending cutscene for MGS4 was practically a movie, but it needed it to wrap up all of the other games.

But to each his own. I loved it.

Infamous is amazing, but Valkyria Chronicles still remains at the top... in a tie with Infamous. They are like 1A and 1B for me really. Batman is pretty darn awesome as well. I have a feeling the new Ratchet and Clank might become my overall favorite though. I'm so excited for that game.

People get caught up in the excitement of a new game. I enjoyed all the games you mentioned, but if I had to pick my favorite game this gen I would probably have to stick with Uncharted 2. Great story, gameplay, visuals, online, etc. Plus I loved Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2 improves on pretty much everything Uncharted 1 did well.

Its called getting aboard the hype train.

Everyone has been going around saying how Uncharted 2 is there favorite game of all time or w/e but that will only last for a month or two and thos idiots will move on to another game because they just follow the latest trend in video games.

well astechnology progress its only natural thatgames get better so usally the newer a game is the higher praise it gets. this isnt to say the older games become irrelavent but newer games will get the attention at first because....well there new lolz. its like this....i love MGS4 but does that mean when God of War 3 comes out im not gunna be excited and play that new game because i loved MGS so much? i think its the new games that keep old games fom growing stale

People always go with whats most recent in their memory. I run an MMA website and the same thing happens everytime a new awesome fight happens. You get like 30 guys coming on the forum proclaiming it fight of the year and the best fight ever but generally its not even close.

Yeah or maybe they actually like the game :roll: I loved Uncharted 1 and now Uncharted 2 is even better imo. Am I not allowed to actually like it just because it's new? I'll still like the game 2-3 years from now when the next one comes out. I'm not saying it's my favorite game of all time (that belongs to Half-Life 2) but its a really good game. Some people get too wrapped up in hype, but not everyone follows the crowd.
