It's to slow. I got the free Sly Cooper HD series free with my new ps3, and it took one entire night to download Sly 1, and I've been working on getting Sly 2 downloaded for 2 days and it's only at 20 % done.

Note that it isn't my internet provider because I downloaded Crysis 1 in 3 hours. Sly 2 is taking waaaaaay to long. Iv'e been downloading it for a total of 7 hours and only got 20%. (I let the game download for a few hours a day, then stop it because I dont want to let my system run to long at one time unless im playing a game)

I wish they would boost the performance from psn.

while PSN is somewhat slow, that is insanely crazy hrs ur downloads are taking. i downloaded LBP2 in 20min and with install about 30min. i downloaded rachet and clank, the one u get for being ps+ its 14GB and with install it only took 37min. i have a feeling u might be using wireless? maybe u need to open some ports in ur router? or maybe ur connection is a lil too slow? but it should take THAT long to download games and what not. i have never passed 45min for downloading and installing any type game.

I have no idea how to open ports and what not. I am wireless, but I never lag in any online games I have and my signal strength always reads between 85-100%.

But just updating Gran Turismo 5 took 2 hours, plus installing the game data took another hour. What is this open ports your speak of?

i had a feeling u was wireless. u see wireless sucks regardless of how strong the signal shows. to me 80 to 100 % usually means 50 to 65%....i used to be wireless, and dude i used to download stuff and it takes ages, and soon as i went wired, i noticed a BIG improvement. if u go to us.playstation.com theres a section where u can put ur ps3 in DMZ i think thats what its called and show u how to open up ports.

P.S. grand turismo is the only exceptional game lol, its patches adn installs are so BIG it does take some time. but u should really try to go wired, and go to the playstation website and see how u can open up ports

If you are talking about the NAT type, my ps3 is aways #2. But thanks for trying to help. I'll have to go wired.

Works fine for me. I pay for 6mbp/s and that is the rate I download stuff at. Must be something on your end.

Wireless is *NOT* the problem. My PS3 sits 10 feet from my wireless router accross the room and I downloaded RE4 (which was only 3.3 Gigs) in about 15 mins. I also Downloaded Bioshock from the Apple App Store for my MAC (which is 7 gigs) in around 45 mins. And... this is with satellite internet service so don't assume that wireless is the sole problem, now... wireless may not be helping but trouble shoot it first you caould have firewall, router, and who knows what other types of interference or slowdown.

Just my 2 cents.

My Brother: I have sh*t for a dvd collection

Me: You put sh*t in your dvd player?

My Brother: Ding ding ding!!!

I really think it's your connection or internet service, or something else hindering your download speed. I'm pretty sure in the year 2012 if you're downloading something that slow its obvious it isn't PSN service.

Like others said i too can download stuff very quick off psn. A 1 gig game takes a few minutes.

I have a wired connection and when downloading something from PSN it's always hit or miss. Sometimes it goes blazing fast and sometimes it's as slow as a turtle.
