PS Vita Hub recently posted an article that caught my interest.

Sony exec Shahid Kamal Ahmed teases that "Dozens" of PS Vita games are about to come our way this year (and next) on his watch.

Furthermore, just last weekAhmed teased that one big game in particular would be coming to the Vita.  What he was referring to, is anybody's guess.

On an unrelated, but equally interesting note, GameInformer has discovered that Square-Enix re-registered the trademarks for 'Agito', suggesting that Square might still be planning on doing something with Final Fantasy Type-O outside of Japan.  Perhaps they will finally release the game after all?

With E3 drawing ever-near, we're sure to get some answers once and for all.

Hopefully the Vita ends up getting something along the lines of GTA or Skyrim or Demon's/Dark Souls.  Any of those sorts of games would likely grab the attention of non-Vita owners.  That is if they're good and that is reflected when they're reviewed and placed on the front page of gaming sites.

Also, hoping we get a release date for Terraria soon.  While not a new announcement, the game seems like it's a good fit for a handheld.

The game Shahid was referring to last week was Freedom Wars.

Shahid loves to make flamboyant announcements...

Perhaps DOZENS of games are really coming, but not everyone of them will be an AAA game involving a famous franchise and a major software house. I think that, to reach the "DOZENS" quantity, lots of new indie games will have to be accounted for.

About the Type-0 thing, I don't know, but I'm skeptical.

Square-Enix could have trademarked the name for any reason, including, say, any little social game for iOS that takes place in the Type-0 universe.

That said, if I turn out to be wrong, I'll be very happy. ;)

I enjoyed the psp so much because it had so many rpgs (Ys, Lunar, Gurmin, Tactics Ogre) and redone side-scrollers (Mega Man X, Castlevania Chronicles). Seeing more games like this would strongly increase my desire to geta Vita. Ys: Memories of Celceta coming to Vita is a good step, but it still needs a few more.

Well, if you like "redone side scrollers", then Muramasa is the perfect Vita game for you.

Also, you might be interested in a new game called Dragon's Crown.

As for RPGs, I agree that things could be better. Japanese developers are finally starting to deliver, but very few of them will be actually translated in English.

Remakes of sidescrollers should definitely not be done because remakes are terrible. MHX, DXC, and First Departure were each worse than the original. How do 3 remakes all suck that bad. I think there may be more to it than just luck. In any case there couldn't be a more obvious sign that remakes are a waste of time and money.

I would kind of have to agree with you. I think only big games that are already popular, like FFX and OOT (on the 3DS), will do well in remake sales. But I think most people tend to prefer and remember the original games better anyway, and most people would prefer brand new games over remakes.

Muramasa is a good game, but I already have the wii version and don't see myself buying a port for a few extras. If I got Dragon's Crown, it would be on the PS3. Too many ports is part of the Vita's problem.

So your personal preferences are a "definate" indication of what's worthwhile and what isn't? Fascinating! I'll call Michael Pachter and tell him his job just got a lot easier; now he can simply call you about stuff instead analyzing all that pesky data.

A lot of Japanese games are not import-friendly. You can sell it if the game gets localized though, Japanophiles would pay an arm and a leg for the Japanese dubs. I hope FF Type-0 gets localized, it's too big of a game to stay unlocalized.

Didn't know about Sol Trigger. Great news!

Also, with some luck, we could finally have an English patch for Dangan Ronpa this Summer...

You should be more angry at your idiocy. Why would you think a JRPG that is Japan only and failed to make it over here would have an English language? Only about 1% do. If it was translated into English they would have brought it to the US. Regardless, a 2 second Google search would have told you that it wasn't in English. You only have your self to blame.

Ah, and also, the guys working on Sol Trigger have almost finished Digimon Adventure :) We might. Gaijinworks got a list of Japanese games from their fans and they said that they were sure at least one of the games on the list would get localized. Who knows, you might be lucky and we'd get Dangan Rompa :D

No, they are made to work only on a PSP running a custom firmware.

and hopes and dreams = crushed. How come we get small JRPGs like BlackRockShooter and Class of Heroes, and SEofA can't even publish a Final Fantasy game? The risk those publishers are taking are much larger compared to the risk of a Final Fantasy title that strays away from the XIII trilogy.

That's because small JRPGs were localized by small companies who aren't as obsessed with money. Actually Gaijinworks (the guys who localized CoH2) asked SE if they could localize their games, but Square Enix said they 'don't want anyone else doing their stuff' according to PSLifestyle. I hope this means they are working on it themselves.

I doubt vita would get that much coverage in e3, at least not during the presentation. It's going to be all about the ps4.
