I realize this game is coming out for PS4, but there's no PS4 forum yet...

We all know that Origins was a seriously amazingly awesome game.  DA2, while a fun game on it's own, was a horribly disappointing follow-up to Origins.  What are your thoughts on 3?  Bioware has already said that we will never again play the Warden (boo).  What would you like to see in this game?  What do you think we'll see?  Are you even going to bother?

I liked DA:O a lot and ended up putting about 120 hours into it. If they go back to the traditional party-based RPG combat, then I will probably get DA3 too. If they go the more action game route like DA2, then I might get it based on reviews and gameplay. Less likely though. I expect it will be more like DA2, but just without the enemies dropping out of the sky all the time. I wish it was the slower style, with exploration and more open areas to discover. I want to have a dark, brooding Necromancer as a companion option. Maybe that's pretty specific, but I imagine the fun dialogue that would come from having them and a snarky wisecracking guy in the party too. Would be funny. Plus, I think they could stand to have a little more diversity in the abilities and magic, which the Necromancer could easily provide.

definitely go back to DA:origins is was a lot better than DA2. But one thing i would like to see is for them to try and make much more like Skyrim in terms of its misson and quest structure and also the smiting system

well, bioware already said that they are looking to make the environments/levels more expansive. in terms of combat, i expect it to be slower than DAII and enemies won't come from spawned waves. i have no idea about what the story and setting (orlais, obviously) will be like because the trailer was just a bunch of "world is ending" drivel. maybe that's what it will be like? the grey wardens in DAII were rushing over there.

what i hope: the more open environments sound good to me and i wouldn't complain if they slowed the combat down. the codex entries in the previous games about orlais always talked about the treacherous social structure and i think that makes it a good opportunity to get into more detail with the dialogue system. also, i hope bioware can strike a balance between the detail needed in a good open world game and the distance of the tactical camera.

will i bother? i'm waiting at least a few weeks after the game's launch to see if bioware is going to mess with their game due to fanboy tears like they did with ME3. if they don't, i'll probably give it a shot if it otherwise looks good. i they do, i don't think i'll buy it.

I'm really hoping they go back to Origins in terms of character development. I felt like I barely knew my party members in 2. Even in Awakening, a relatively short add-on, the character development was great. And holy cow, every party member in 2 was so emo. They all hate each other and it's incredibly difficult to get the friendship level up. And I really hope Bioware is not lying when they say the environments are going to be more expansive.

I don't have a link or anything but in a past interview didn't bioware say they were influenced by Skyrim when they started development if DA3?

I heard something about that. They need to stop trying to be like other games, though. :(

The fact that it's EA and they're forcing online multiplayer on it doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.  Especially not after what they did with Dead Space.  I'll read some reviews and if it turns out they haven't ruined it then maybe I'll think about it.

I'm very excited for this game. I played Origins and loved it. Never played the sequel cause everyone said it was a letdown. I think Dragon Age Inquisition and Elder Scrolls Online are probably my two most anticipated PS4 titles, along with whatever the B team at Naughty Dog has been working on.

Didn't this get pushed out to late 2014 or something?

I also highly prefer DA:O over DA 2. Origins was one of my all time favorite games. I was very disappointed in DA 2. Though it did have some good features, it had too many misses for me. The top of the list is the constantly re-used areas. It drove me nuts. I am still planning on picking up DA 3 though.

2 is a fun game by itself, but is disappointing as a follow-up to Origins. I had fun with it. You can find it used for like $10 if you want to give it a try.

Loved the combat/story/characters in Origin. Hated everything about DA2. Hope they make the right choice on where to take the game.
