I know it's very new, so people probably won't know, but I'll ask anyway.

I was wondering if it was an RPG like oblivion where you can pick a "class", where it's open ended and you can do what you want, etc. I already saw it was very dialougue based, which I thought looked cool as well. From the video it looked interesting, as your actions affect the whole storyline.

Do the previous games attempt something like that?

Thanks in advance.

Oh, yeah, and just cause I thought it was funny...a game named "wet" is coming out. Lol, very strange name...

.... It is suppose to be a spirtual successor of Baldur's Gate 2.. A game that is SO much better than Oblivion, I seriously even can't consider it a rpg..

Well, it's supposed to be the spiritual successor of Baldur's Gate 2, so I assume the gameplay and structure will be similar. In that game, you'd pick a class for your character and while there was a main story, the huge world had a ton of side quests to follow. You also were not alone but had a big posse of allies with you. And I thought Wet was canned or put on hold a while ago.

No, not even close. It's third person and you control a whole party and not a single character. Plus it's a "real" RPG and not an action RPG like Oblivion. It has a much slower pace, you can pause battles, etc. Not a game for the typical console user I'd say. Unless they make heavy changes for the console versions, which they will probably do.

i just hope the PC version dont suffer because of the consoles. the PC release has already been pushed back so all 3 versions can launch at the same time which sucks.

I want to say a few thanks: Thank god the avatar and creature graphics aren't as lame as Oblivion, thank god the coloring isn't that crappy washed out sepia in Oblivion, thank god for an RPG that isn't another horrible JRPG anime piece of trash for 12 year olds. Getting back to Oblivion... how on earth that snore-fest ever managed to get good reviews and develop adherents is beyond me. There's no accounting for taste. Don't even get me started on the voice acting... what did they do, recruit the voice actors from a Grade 6 school play? Then again there's quite a few people who actually like anime so I shouldn't be surprised. Society is in sore need of a testosterone injection.

As a console gamer (and oldschool PC gamer), I am looking forward to this game a lot. But I am going to agree with your point. I don't see how they can translate the point-and-click style of the PC game to consoles without making drastic, possibly damaging, changes.

I've done some research on the game and watched a bunch of videos on it as well, and... It looks a lot like WoW does on the PC. Graphics are a bit better than WoW but overall it has a very WoW feel to it. But its not an MMO. Its like they took Baldur's Gate and put it into a WoW engine. You pick a char. and class and you play through the story with that char. And like Baldur's Gate you meet people in the game and can add them into your party with pauseable combat like BG, where you can control the other members of your party.

I want to pick this game for my PS3. But I doubt it'll be as good as PC version. And my laptop suck so PS3 is the only way for me to play this game (I can't play Baldur's Gate because my laptop is too new to run it). :( PC gaming can be annoying, like CnC3 and RA3 can't run on Windows 64-bit, the original ones won't run on Vista because it's not support. And my graphics card lowest resolution is 800x600, not 640x480 so i can't run any games prior year 2,000. :(

I expect the worse...this will be Bioware´s last attempt to go back to their old classic rpg games, although I don´t expect anything like baldur´s gate 2.

I'm enjoying it on the PS3 but yes it would be much better on the PC if I had one that could play the game.

oh and it's nothing like oblivion. it's also much better.

Nope, not really. The world is broken up into chunks that you travel to via a world map. You can only travel this way to the main points of each area (for instance, if you wanted to go to the large tavern of the main city, you can't just travel to the tavern, you have to travel to the city first). Anyways, the game is superior to Oblivion in almost every way imaginable imo... Oblivion puts me to sleep.
