SPOILER ALERT** If you haven't done the Urn of the Sacred Ashes quest, please don't continue reading.

I'm at the point where I have to talk to Kolgrin and either side with him or kill him. I read that If I choose to side with him I get the Reaver specialization for the Warrior, which is supposedly pretty good. My problem is that my main character is a mage, and the warrior on my party is Shale, whom I want the ability for. So, if I choose to side with Kolgrin, will Shale get the Reaver specialization?? Or is it only possible if the main character is a warrior??

Thanks in advance!!

You can gain specializations for your other party members. If Shale is classed as a Warrior and you unlock the reaver specialization and once he gets to a certian level you can train him in said specialization. Thats how I remember it. If it comes down to it, Save before you do and find out. Best case of trial and error. Save Save Save

This. Shale is like your dog. Some basic warrior specs and the rest is all character specific.

Just FYI, once you unlock a specialization, it remains unlocked forever. For instance even if you start a new game, characters will have access to any specialization you have ever unlocked (at those respective levels, 7 and 14). So you could conceivably save the game before you get to the decision, side with the evil guys and complete the quest to get the Reaver specialization, then reload your save and follow the righteous path while still having access to Reaver.

Two things. First, like the others said, Shale can't use specializations, so no point in planning stuff for it. Secondly, save yourself the trouble and save the game before the decision making. Then do both sides of the quest. Once you unlock the Reaver spec, it will forever remain open to use. Then you can just go back to your save file and re-do that part, remembering that the other warrior spec, Champion, is unlocked by choosing the more righteous side.
