Can only get 1 right now but look pretty good. Which one gives you more bang for your buck as far as the single player portion goes?

I've played a bit of both, and it's hard to say. MP3 definitely has some fun action, but I don't see it being overly long. DD seems like the type of game that takes a while to get going, but I am looking forward to getting through all the intro/setup stuff and then going into the world. DD should provide more things to do in the SP, as it's all it has, and seems like the type of game that has to be played for about 3 or 4 hours straight to really get into it for the first time, but after that I'm thinking it'll have a lot to keep you hooked for a good amount of time.

All depends on what kind of game you're looking to play. Your question is completely subjective because what one person will enjoy and consider "money well spent," another person will not. Buy Max Payne if you want a gritty crime action shooter with large amounts of violence, good voice acting, a pretty cool story and setting, and a good MP. Dragon's Dogma if you want open world medieval rpg gameplay where you're casting spells/using swords to slay large monsters and complete quests in a large open world.

Yea, you're pretty much spot on. The game has a pretty good learning curve, I'm having trouble figuring out how to properly get my mage character to cast stronger magic that I purchased.
Thanks for the replies. I just saw a good deal for Dragon's Dogma so I snatched it up. Should be arriving in a few days. I'll wait for the Complete Edition of Max Payne 3 later this year.
Why are so many people caught up on game length? I know you want to get the best value for your money, but a 10 hour shooter can be much better than a boring 100 RPG. I think the the perfect gameplay length is no more than 40 hours or so...for any single player game.
brought dragon's dogma yesterday so ...

What are you impressions so far?
I'm definitely getting Max Payne 3 at some point after seeing some walkthrough vids. I saw a good price for Dragon's Dogma and after hearing how hard it can be, I decided to give it a whirl. Looks pretty good after watching a few vids but if I don't like, I'll trade in for Max Payne 3.
Plus I'm anxious to see what campaign DLC R* has in store since they have so much multiplayer maps coming out for it.I would like to see some more of those New York levels in some sort of expansion though. They looked more fun than those Sao Paulo chapters.
