You can import it, however, the Japanese version works fine on all PS3's.

Same here. Got it in November. Works great, it was nice to play Ratchet and Clank, Assassins Creed, and Uncharted for the first time with Rumble.

Still 1 month and 10 days away from the launch.

I feel they are clearing the stocks for sixaxis. And they cannot handle the global demand at the same time.

here they sell the japanese one and i have it but it's not the biggest thing... but i prefer it... i have both and i like the sixaxis lightness but i don't use it because i don't own any multiplayer games yet... it just rumbles and it's heavier, that's all...
