I just got my new PS3 from Amazon last night, but prior to having it I had Cables Out for all the Inputs. Currently my Setup is this:

The PS3 is Connected to my 40" 1080 Through HDMI, directly into the TV. An Optical Jack connects the PS3 to my 5.1 Home Theater System.

What I want to know is if I could have both my TV AND My 5.1 output sound from the PS3.

As far as I can figure you have to choose your audio output. You can select either HDMI or Optical, but not both. In other words, if you run optical t your Surround reciever then you won't get any sound out of your TV unless you run a seperate output from your reciever to your TV.
