I've been using playstations since the 1st one. There has always been a game or two that would make me throw my controller on the ground or at something for some reason or

another (like fifa on world ****or when playing against a friend). I've only destroyed one ds 2 controller in my whole gamning "history".

Yet currently i've almost destroyed my 2nd ds 3 (the first one got destroyed the 1st time i threw it...also fifa) , and this one i threw once on the ground and one screw got busted

and the r2 button feels kinda funny when i press it (this was actually courtesy of the last level of LBP which i will probably NEVER get past -the huge wheel thingy-)

Has anyone else noticed that the ds3 have crap durability?

If u seriously break controllers this much then u act like a spoiled little girl. it is only because the L2 and R2 buttons are loose and i like it better so i would rather hav a more comfortable controller and slightly less durable.

What does confortability have to do with durability? I don't see your connection. Also, having a high temper is not the same as being a spoiled little girl. However if you're the kind of person who when getting a slap on the face or getting insulted prefers to shut up, than i could call you a coward little girl, in the same fashion. There's no connection , there are tons of people who throw their controllers in frustrations and although it's not advisable it's not abnormal. Maybe you don't game that much or only game on easy levels.

Don't throw your controller and it will last forever.

True story.

They took the back of the bumpers (which made it more durable) and they hav it to where the bumpers are more like "pedals" and i think it is more comfortable. But they made controllers for gaming and occasional temperental throw at the ground. U hav to be throwing them on the ground extremely hard or over and over to get them to break. They were not made to be like bsketballs... So instead of throwing money away in a snap, i punch a pillow instead ;)

I've found the DS3 controllers to be much more durable than the Sixaxis controllers. Throwing your controllers isn't going to help your controllers last and it's a very immature way of acting.

im sure sony spent alot of time making sure they wouldnt break when you throw them at a wall.

id give them a call and ask them why your controller broke when you threw it.

I've dropped mine and knocked it on the ground a few times on accident and I cringe everytime it happens but it's plenty durable for that and I've had no problems. I still don't get why you would throw a controller in the first place though, doesn't make any sense.

My left stick and R2 button are squeaking after normal usage. My DS & DS2 never squeaked, broke (well I did twist one in half but that's another story), stopped working, or whatever. I'd have to say the DS3 is slightly less durable than the first two iterations, I'll gladly take the squeaking of the DS3 just due to it being wireless.

I dont think too many people are going to have sympathy for you really. Everyone can get mad and frustrated but they are also smart enough not to throw a $50 device over a game. You might want to get a punching bag so that way you can just punch that when you get mad and in the long run it sounds like it will save you money lol.

they really arent as durable, even without being an idiot an throwing em into the wall, the little springs in the R2 and L2 buttons really cant stand the test of time, from normal use they wear out and break. apart from that they are exactly the same as the older versions of the controllers.

I think I know your problem!

the PS3 controller is made for playing games. It's not made to be a subject of uncontrolled anger and violence.

don't worry though! I've got a solution for you. GROW UP!

You're kidding right? The durability of an object is measured assuming that the user doesn't throw a hissy-fit regularly because he lost a few games. That's like saying, "I KEEP PUNCHING THIS BABY, AND NOW IT'S STARTING TO DIE ON ME! GAWD, THESE NEWBORNS HAVE CRAP DURABILITY!"

I'm not one to throw my controlers, but the x buttons on both of my controlers have started to stick.

After two good bashes into the carpet floor I started to notice loose chunks of plastic on the inside of the controller. After taking it apart I figured they were the 'connection beams' the screws go through. It's really only the plastic that takes the most damage. In my history of controller smashing, I've never found any broken mechanics, like wires, chip boards (or whatever they're called) or the buttons themselves. It's just the casing that'll warp and crack.

Hahahaha! This guy makes me laugh. Thanks for cheering me up. You remind me of myself. And for the guy who throws his controller, I understand you because I have the same or maybe worst temper than you but you can still control your actions so you dont have to throw your controller. when I get frustrated on games I just curse a lot and besides after getting frustrated on a game and I've cooled down it just makes admire that game and smile because that game is good enough to make me talk by myself and shouting cursed words and when you beat that game that is when the real reward comes.
