Thinking about importing the white one from a very reliable japan site on ebay. If I get this product in Japan it should be just the same as buying one in the U.S. as in it will work with my U.S. PS3? I figured it should, but just wanted to ask you guys for further confirmation.
Yeah no need to worry, it will work and it wont void any warranty, however you cannot send the controller to Sony America if it is defective, you would have to find a way to contact Sony Japan. At least thats what Sony tech support is telling me...
Don't worry about it. I've been importing everything from systems to controllers....The controller will work fine on your system. I've got one on the way from my friend staying in Japan.
that white controller is cool it has that storm trooper theme, too bad my ps3 is black, and my TV is black, but my psp is silver, and the black TVs remote is silver(that one boggled me)
I actually just got stationed in Japan last Thursday, so I can just go off base to a local store and pick one up :P Maybe I'll be nice and send some to you guys ...not for free of course.

What's the issue with waiting for it's officical release in the market you live in? Game function implementation won't happen until at least then anyway.

Is that so? I hadn't heard anything on either using the rumble function. That's cool then, I wonder how they'll use it in Uncharted. Any links with some interesting details?

Yeah it'll work with the current games coming out (R&C has it), and older games may get a patch.
No link but I recall the Uncharted rumble ws very good. R&C not so much, only uses it sparingly.
