Due to Resistance 2 people are losing interest on KZ2

I find it really amazing that we have known about KZ2 for about 3 years and yet only found out about R2 last week, saying that we know far more about R2 then we do about KZ2. I don't know what Sony is planning but in my mind they are just making gamers really angry by being really secretive on Killzone 2. Sony had a great presence at E3 07 and KZ2 was no doubt the highlight of their conference, the game showed off amazing lighting, amazing animation and a whole new 1st person cover system. Since E3 nothing new was shown or even told about KZ2, this really annoys me considering the game is meant to come out in a few months time. To me it looks like the game will be delayed and Sony will concentrate on R2 instead but this cannot be good for KZ2 after Sony hyping it so much. All I'm saying is, Sony better have a huge KZ2 showing at GDC in March otherwise I won't care about KZ2 what-so-ever.

First you state that we lost interest in the game and then you're asking us. Guy, how do you figure people are losing interest in kz2? At the end of the day I think people care more about resistance 2 because we've just been introduced to the series in 06 and the story left you wanting more. Plus, R2 just came out of the blue with details, so of course some people will care more about it. I mean KZ2 hasn't hit us off with anything since E3. Can you blame some people?

I believe it was confirmed the game won't be released before September. Apparantly Guirrilla are gonna have an open beta online test for KZ2 over the Summer. I know this game is gonna be awesome but R2 has kind of decreased the hype towards this game and I'm afraid it mightly completely kill off the hype if Sony remains secretive on KZ2.

You argument doesn't make much sense to me. Who says that Sony is "focusing on Resistance 2"??? I've seen no indication of that. R2 was basically just announced in GI magazine, although it was pretty much a given that we would see a sequel.

The fact is, plenty of people are probably hyped about R2 because the first game was really awesome & the second game has upgrades/options that people can get excited about. When KZ2 gets closer to release & we get an actual, solid release date, then I'm sure people will be excited about that as well. You're assuming a whole lot, that's for sure.

not me i'll be looking forward to playing KZ2 n Resistance 2 when it comes out.:)

every since i found out about Resistance 2 coming out and seeing all the pictures, that didn't make me lose any interest in Killzone 2. I enjoyed playing Resistance fall of man and i'm sure this game will be good aswell. but i'm practically bored of my PS3 (since IW screwed up on the new matchmaking) i just need to kill some time until the game that pretty much made me buy a PS3 to come out.

You just know they've already over promised already like they did with Killzone 2 and they arn't going to really pull everything they said off really well. I mean making 2 campaigns and a 60 player multiplayer game is going to be sooo hard that one will have to suffer.

Well, Resistance 2 has a better pedigree behind it: R:FOM was great and Insomniac have proven themselves to be one of the best developers for the PS3. Guerilla's original Killzone got mixed reviews; they have not developed a PS3 title yet, and KZ2 has been hyped almost exclusively on a graphical basis. I really liked the first Killzone (and the portable Liberation), but Resistance was met with much more consistent critical acclaim. Plus, recently revealed Resistance 2 features such as 8 player online co-op and 60 player online fragfests are much more substantial than graphical muscle alone. I think it's no contest as to which upcoming title is most deserving of hype.

Who's to say you can't be excited about more than one game at a time? I'm hyped for both...and I hate shooters. Well, most shooters. They're starting to grow on me though.

unless they both appear at losely the same time i dont think there will be much conflict between the 2. maybe at this point due to the secrecy surrounding the KZ2 there is more buzz on R2 but that really doesnt mean that sony wont launch a massive PR campaign for KZ2 (being that it is one of the bigger franchises they have). In all honesty when it comes to the single player both games precviously and in the future have a major story and a lot of play time.

All in all R2 had one of the baddest stories in a shooter and a rocking multiplayer which was also the case for Killzone but it did not fair all that well. However, depending ont he release date for those of us that play shooters for online play bigger threats to both games will be still CoD4, SOCOM: Confronation and R6V2. POint being again what i said at the begining. Due to massive story modes and some (some solid too) online play both games should still be pretty huge unless they are relased VERY close to each other. Right now, all it is is a loss of buzz on KZ2.

First and formost RFOM was a great game so we know what to expect. KZ2 is a game that ever one is oooohing and ahhing about but we still haven't even got a chance to play it. I want both games and can't wait for both, but at the same time when you see a new game coming off a great game it gives you a higer expectation for that game where KH2 is coming off its first game where it was something most of us would pass up. I hope both games are great.

Gamers Game...Fanboys Choose Sides....

I think part of it might be the glutton of FPS coming out. At first they were probably very proud of the work they were doing with "Killzone2", but perhaps they're now trying to avoid over-promising and under-delivering.

Personally, I'm getting sick of FPS right now. I've already got "Resistance", "HalfLife2 Orange", "FEAR", "CoD4" and such on my PS3, and to be honest, though they're set in 3rd person, "Rainbow Six Vegas", "Ghost Recon AW2", and "Drake's Fortune" have alot of shooter elements in them aswell. As an owner of a 360 too, I've also got "BioShock" and "Gears".

Thats why, at least in my opinion, games like "Area 51 Blacksite", "Jericho", "TimeShift" and such that would normally score 7's and 8's are getting some low scores in the 5's and 6's.
