my ps3 fan has been very loud lately and i have noticed alot of dust in the back i have been trying to get it out with a vacum but its not working what can i do

If it was me i would open it up and strip it down and clean it all out and i would add my own thermal compound for good measure on the gpu ans cpu ( but you should only do this if you think you can do it wiithout breaking the console )

infact today i am doing this to a few ps3's for my friends :-)

Don't go near electronics with a vacum :x do you have any idea how much static they create? my Mum fried a pc once with one :lol:. Get a can of air and do the job properly, just don't hold it nozzle down :P.

If you read the PS3 manual is states using a vacuum over an air can. But if you open it, use something like an air brush.

Well another ps3 cleaned and new artic silver 5 on the gpu and cpu done and all cleaned out , its now whisper quiet ! no stupid cans of air or vacume cleaner here ! job done the right way :-)
