i dont download movies, so i was wondering how to take a dvd i already have and save it on my memory stick. dvds are "copy protected" so is this even possible to do? ive been a hardcore gamer since about 98 but besides installing and uninstalling games i am very computer illiterate. any help would be appretiated.

Well your going to need a program to convert the DVD's to the right format. I use DVD-FAB but you can also use other program and the Media Manager you can buy for the PSP. Anyway all you do is put in the DVD and it will convert it and save to your computer (usually makes it smaller to), then you just save the DVD in to your VIDEO folder. I reccomend only doing it if you have a 2-4gig memory card because you will only be able to fit one movie on a gig if you have games or two if you don't.

There's a perfect tutorial on how to do it. It's in three parts, so follow the metaphorical Yellow Brick Road and follow till the last part.

PS- I've used this method many times, and it works out perfectly.

You need a DVD ripper program. 2 free ones are DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. You could also buy PSP Movie Creator which will read and encode a DVD directly.

Not completely....it'll probably still convert movies from the web. It might even convert .vob files. Here's a link to a site that still has it: http://www.dvddecrypter.org.uk/.

If your program doesn't do .vob then get PSP Video 9. That does convert .vob
