Hey there I was just wondering if you can use a DVI socket with a ps3, as my TV has one, it doesnt have a HDMI socket, if it doesnt is there some kind of converter I can get??

the dvi must be compratible with hdcp

to connect ur ps3 ull need a hdmi-dvi adaptor

No need for a converter/adapter, the two are pin compatible. All you need is a dvi/hdmi cable:

But pulga is correct in saying your TV needs to be HDCP capable.

I'm sure some one else will be able to answer this properly, but I thought it output Blu-Ray films at standard resolution because DVI can't support DRM

Not all TVs/Monitors with DVI support HDCP, but a lot of the newer ones do. You have to look it up/research it.

So If its not HDCP compatible can I not get HDMI? or does that just mean I need a converter?

if its not hdcp i think u wont get any image at all when using dvi

Same as my tv. Since HDMI is essentially DVI Video with Audio signalimbedded it is as simple as getting a HDMI -> DVI cable then run sound through AV or Optical or whatever.
