Prior to E3 I have never been a fan of handheld consoles whatesoever questioning why you want to play games with previous generations graphics on such a small screen. But after watching Sony's press conference I became intrested in buying a PSP, particulary with the new designa nd the cool star wars one. Is it worth getting a PSP if I'm not on the road that much (meaning away from my PS3) and mainly game on my PS3? What good games are coming out besides the new star wars, socom, and god of war. Also does anyone know if the star wars bundle will be avalible for a while after the initial launch?

The PSP is quite awesome, I'm wanting a PSRe, but I can't afford it.

My theory is that they will sell out the Star Wars ones and offer the plain white from then on.

I'm not on the road much at all, and I love mine. I actually use it for movies as much or a little more than for games. It's great when killing time waiting for appointments and stuff like that. I make up excuses to go out for awhile so I can use it. It looks amazing, it's just huge fun, the wireless thing is very cool (they have free wireless at my mall now, so I can surf and check email there). I don't watch TV at all, don't even have cable, but if I did, the Location Free service seems like it would be pretty awesome.

I think even if you don't travel much it's great to have. Unfortunately UMD movies are pretty pricey (recently EB had a bunch on sale for $4.99), but you can't beat the quality. I've burned several of my own titles using DVD Decrypter and PSP9, and the quality is really murky compared to UMD. For some movies, I definitely think it would be worth $10 or $15 for a portable copy, if it's one you really like.

I say when the new one comes out in October, buy one. I probably will, and I just bought my current one in March.
